During the Cold War Canada gave USSR MiG-29 warbirds permission to visit...but to reach Canada the two Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 "Fulcrum" fighters had to fly through U.S. airspace. So as the MiG-29 fighters approached the U.S. Air Force sent up at least two F-15 Eagle fighter jets to intercept them, and to escort the MiG-29s. This stunning photo -- shot high over Alaska, USA -- shows the aerial intercept.
