One of my 5 sisters had a baby yesteday at 11 am. My family was there and did not tell me 27, or my 25 year old sister until like 2pm...she actually called me. Before this goes south I am not an outcast or some shit by my family. My stepmother puts strain on my 2 reals sisters and me and my fathers relationship. I am sure this is just another act like this. Its just a lonely feeling. My dads wife is a hateful person and cares for her two girls in a way that is obviously different. They have been together since I was like 9 now Im 27 so its been ahwile. It pulls my dad that direction Im not sure if he notices it anymore. I dont blame my sister I know what she went through, I was there in the delivery area for a close friend of mine and you dont have time to call or even think straight to do anything. Im sending her flowers today...a big one for her and a small matching one for the new one...
....But thanks Im an uncle again !!! My Dad is a good person in a lot of areas but has taught me how to treat my children by neglecting his own, sad but true. Anyone who knows him would never believe that...he his a high figure in the public with some stuff he's involved in and so many look up to him, Plus businesses he owns and what not. I used to pass by his actions because I to believe in working hard and I could see myself having time away from my family. I know I would make more effort.......But he lacks elsewhere....Im just not sure Im willing to take it anymore, My father and I were flying down to Florida for a dinner next month and Im going to cancel.....He will learn one day. I left his house when I was 13 because of his wife...it could be worse this time.

hey thanks for bring us all down bro. When GL said to tell us your problem he didnt really mean tell us your problem. It's like when somebody says "how are you" they dont want your blood count and cholesterol numbers.

If you don't care for your stepmother, then don't worry about her actions. If you care about your father, then TELL HIM that's how you feel about the whole thing. I wouldn't cancel that dinner and use that opportunity to tell him what you've just told us. People tend to not see things happening around them and the consequences they have their loved ones unless they're told straight out. It's never too late to have a different relationship with a family member.
