This is a special note to all who travel to the BAJA side of Mexico. I had a very bad time with the PGR (they are like the FBI in the US) these guys patrol the Federal roads in Mexico, well what happened was my partner that was with me had a beer in the car when we weir puller over by these guys. Keep in mind that I was a state investigator for many years my partner is still active ATF, in Mexico that does not mean shit. They arrested both of us for DUI I was not drinking but it was my car, we weir put in Federal Prison for over one week they wanted to pass sentence of 3 to 5 years in Mexico (not a fun place I will tell you) But because we had friends that had many contacts with Consulate General of the US (COL. Hiporomo) we had quickly received legal Consular from Tijuana, it took only one day at that point and we weir out!! (A may add 1,000 us dollars) So what I have done for all the Mex shoppers is comprise a list of Mexican Attorneys that will be very helpful to you if this should happen to you. Keep in mind the Local Cops you can just pay off on the spot but not so easy with the federal Cops.
