AIM gives me problems a lot of times, but it's an awesome way of keeping in touch with people, so I just deal with them. Good luck.
 
Its bullshit my friend had the same problem. They make it crash because they want you to upgrade to 5.0 so you can't use AIM+ and can't delete their advertisements. My friend had to upgrade to 5.0 too. This is fucking gay. They don't deserve to live. I fucking liked 4.8 I hate new shit if I wanted the new shit I'd download the new shit but I dont that's why I use the old shit but they always fucking make you upgrade. I was fucking happy with DOS. Nothing ever went wrong with DOS but nooo they make you upgrade to Windows 3.x then Win 95 then Win 98 and now WinXP because shit don't work on the others anymore. It's a fucking scam to screw people like me who just want to use what they are used to. They ain't upgrading shit, if anything it gets worse with each update. Why can't they be like Adobe, sure they do upgrades to their products but Photoshop 7 and Photoshop 1 are pretty much exactly the same just Photoshop 7 has more options. They didnt move shit around and make me use different shit I can use PS7 just like I used the first one. I fucking hate this shit

No. Fuck I dont want to have to reset my quicklaunch bar everytime some gay ass program wants to put it there. Putting it on my fucking desktop too. That is so fucking gay. it's not that fucking hard for me to go into the start menu and click it you dont gotta fucking put it on my desktop and quick launch or atleast fuckign ask if I want that. my desktop is a fucking mess as it is i dont want your shit all over it. And whats with starting the fucking program right after you install it. Maybe i dont fucking want to. actually i dont, I want to start it using aim+ so I can have fucking logs but noooo you start it automatically. that is fucking gay I NEVER SAID I WANTED TO FUCING START THE PROGRAM. Why dont these fuck heads get some fucking god damn common sense? And putting that AOL shit on my desk. Upgrade to AOL today! Fucking BULLSHIT. My friend use to do that all the time... I remember once I was driving him somewheres and he kept badgering on my driving just to piss me off. I got REALLY angry and then I took a sharp turn into the other lane and floored it going about 120m/h. He was like "what the fuck are you doing" I didnt say anything. A car was coming up on us and I didnt move. I had no intention of going back into the other lane I just kept going. The other car had to go into the other lane to miss me. My friend thought I went insane, he never tried to purposely piss me off again :D

uninstall aim completely

install trillian. it is a chat client that can communicate with aim users, as well as msn, yahoo, icq, etc. no adds. no spies. no bullshit aol shortcuts.

that said, I once got mad enough at my DSL modem that I smashed it to bits.
but I made up for it by calling customer service to explain that it wasn't working, then went through the steps with the guy and eventually he caught on that I had torn it apart and he hung up on me.
