94-98 Cobra and GT owners

I have a 97 Cobra and want to get a cat-back. I have 40 series delta flow flowmaster mufflers on it, not loud enough (outside). I was thinking about an SLP loudmouth or loudmouth 2 system. What do you have; what would you recommend. Thanks.

Also, I have 71,000 miles on it with the original cats.

why dont you just get cut outs? QTP cutouts that would exit the sides and you can control from inside the car. - open exhaust when you want at the flip of a switch...

I bought a pair a while ago but have yet to put them on my car ( C5 Corvette with a 427 LS1 -- 490rwhp )

You could try the 40 series original flows, they are markedly louder (my car was describe as loud as sin, and like some kind of fuking airplane) and the price is great. Something else to consider is ditching the cat/s if you dont have emissions, that'l make it louder for sure, and all you would have to buy is some o2 simulators. If you have emissions testing just have your shop weld up a piece of straight pipe with cat. flanges on it so you can be-dolt it and put the cat back on for testing day. Spintech makes a pro-street muffler that is retardedly loud, and has a sound no other mustang in your town will have. Finally Dynomax and flowmaster make race mufflers, I think dyno's is called a magnum bullet, and they are freakishly loud too. Good Luck, Go Loud or go HOME!!!!

I had a 95 GT

check out Mac Prochamber

also Borla makes some awsome products as well..

if I were you, id save and get it fitted with bassani x pipe (side exahaust)

I'm not impressed with Borla's tin sound. Side exit exhuast is not something that I would want. I like the Flowmaster sound but my 40 Series Deltaflows are too mild. I'm starting to notice an exhaust leak somewhere near the cats; I wonder if it's just loose? The stock system is in really good shape (I store the car in the winters). Maybe I'll just get an X-pipe, take the cats out, and replace the Deltaflows with a more aggressive Flowmaster.

Sounds good. I don't have to worry about emissions; I'm in Michigan. Even though the muffler shops can't legally remove the cats, I found one that will anyway. Are the 40 Series original Flows considerably louder than the ones I have now, or do you think that the combination of removing the cats and putting on original Flows will make me happy?

It's gray on black; turn your brightness up. Anyway, thanks for cleaning it up, I'll use it.

I've got an 04 w/ the SLP catted x and Loudmouth cat-back (no mufflers). There's virtually no drone and it sounds great. Although I do love the sound, there are many times I wish I could put in mufflers for my daily commute and then take 'em out for the weekend.

It's all SS and the quality is top notch. SLP makes great products.

The original 40's are quite a bit louder, but if you really want a rockin tone id get rid of those cats too. That combination CANNOT be beat!

i love mustangs even though right now i own some rice (acura rsx s) BUT BUT i am considering buying a 2000 cobra R with some lawsuit money i got (blowing it on a machine that i d wanted since it came out

The 00 cobra R is money but I'd pick up an 03-04 cobra. They are f'n nasty.

Are you saying that you have resonators?

Flowmaters and Bassani x-pipe...no sweeeter sound than that on a 97 DOHC.
That's what I'm thinking; Bassani X-pipe, original 40 series Flows, and remove the cats. I hope that's loud enough.

you will not want it any louder bro. The original 40's kill the delta flows for sound

Anyone ever heard a Magnaflow on a Mustang? I have a Magnaflow but it is on my LS1 and I love the sound, deep older muscle car sound to it, but then again I wish I had the exhaust tone of the mustangs. I've always loved their sound!

Lovin that Supra. Fine taste in automobiles.

Motorsport Technologies out of Houston worked on both of them. One word of advice...let them stick to chevy's.

If the x-pipe and flows aren't loud enough just get it dumped....thats the way I ran mine for the first 25K miles.

Dumped?

Yes dumped. Instead of tail pipes they weld on a piece of metal kinda resembling a banana if you will. 10x louder.
