3rd vial for Fina

Put the 18 gage needle in the vial for the last baking process of the fina and the stopper now has a hole in it that won't reseal. Will this mess up the batch being sterile? What's the best way to fix this? Also, when trying to pull the last of the solution out of the vial what is the best way tipping the bottle or getting longer needles?

Well, we inject air into the vials to increase peasure to make drawing easier so sterility is somehwat compromised but not much more than a totally sealed vial. Thats why when people ask me I tell them not to bake it with needle in vial, but slid it out after 10 minutes and poke a needle through for a sec and pop back in oven.

What's the best way to fix this?

I would draw and put into a new sterile vial if ya have one or crimp a new stopper on if you have the materials.

Yeah, drawing can be a real pain in the ass when you have the larger kits cause the barrel is to large to get in vial and neelde is too short. You could try and find a longer needle I suppose or just dump the contents into smaller vials and let sit to settle before drawing.

Thanks Zyg for all your help through the process. It came out good. Just working up the nerve to actually shoot because of the whole self-made thing.

how about using another pin (or sterilizing the one you had in the vial) melt some wasx into the pin sterilize it and then plug it in the hole??

I had the same thing happen so thats what it did

yea I wouldnt use it yoiu could get sick it being unstrelile
