22 with diabetes

Hey

My names Jonny

Im 22 with diabetes. And i was wondering if you could take a moment of your time. Could you give me some advice on a starter diet, Gaining size and taking steriods. And getting tanked. I cant find anyone to talk to for infomation and Im a beginner to this. Im on insulin shots everytime i eat. And i really need help.

Many thanks

A friend of mine is on HRT and insulin for type 1 diabetes. He requires less insulin with his meals now that they have his testosterone levels stabilized at normal levels then he needed before. First couple weeks until he got dialed in he had a few incidents with low blood sugar that could have been serious had he not been with someone that recognized the symptoms and could help him.

Thread lightly and slowly would be my recommendation. Because if high normal levels caused more efficient utilization of insulin to such a degree that it made him go hypo, what could extremely elevated levels do? Nothing? Something? I don't know. Just be careful because there are more important things in life then bulking up and bodybuilding.

I been training for about 6 month's. I take whey and creatine 3 times aday. I train 3 days aweek depending on work. I lift 3-4 sets of 15-20 reps each exercise. all i seem to get is toned muscle. And i want to bulk on the pounds. My diabetes is really well controlled. Is steriods gonna affect my diabetes is there anyone infomation on this subject ?

6 months of working out. I don't think you need to worry about steroids, yet. You are 22 and just building new muscle. Enjoy the great gains you have ahead of you naturally. You aren't gaining mass because of diet and weights. Up those weights to an average of 6-10 reps max. 8 being the sweet spot. I am not going to recommend a diet, although I know diabetics, I'm not informed enough to give a body builder's diet for a diabetic.

Bro your age first of all is still too young to be using steroids your natural test levels are high enough to be making great gains. Wait another couple of yrs at least.

The fact you say you have been lifting 6 months means you have lots to learn about training program's and nutrition. Light weight+high reps=toning <> heavy weight+low reps=bulking
Whey and creatine are only effective with a healthy diet.

Lastly the illness you have is going to make doing steroids extremely dangerous without extensive research by yourself.

My advice would be keep lifting and go heavy. Squats and deadlifts are something you need to be doing once a week. Train more, 2 days on 1 day off training certain muscle groups on certain days.

Your diet is going to be tricky as you are diabetic so search google for "bodybuilding and diabetes".

Pm me if you need any training advice.

Good luck bro and make the most of your natural test levels. It's not easy getting big but the hard work pays off after time.

Health is top of the agenda here don't forget that.

Well you just got amazing advice from hit_the_weights .
I am a type 1 diabetic and experienced lifter. I have also done a few cycles. In my experience when taking testosterone I have needed about 50-60% more insulin than I otherwise would have to be able to maintain a proper bg level.
You need much more experience with insulin dosing beofre attempting to add test to the mix. If you lift when your sugar is high, your body will be in a highly catabolic state and you will not gain any muscle but will burn it. You need to learn how to eat and dose insulin to keep your body in an anabolic state at the right times without the use of testosterone first.
You need to do lots of reading into metabolism, and what anabolism and catabolism really mean and how to manipulate them with your diet before adding exogenous test to the mix.
