200th exoneration granted in U.S. based on DNA evidence

I wonder how many wrongly convicted inmates got fried on the electric chair before they could be exonerated by DNA evidence.

b0und (I really do wonder)

Thats a damn shame.. It all revolves around gun hoe DA's that will do anything or prove BS evidence against innocent people. The American Justice system sucks

Wonder how much $$$ one gets after spending >than a decade locked up then proven innocent.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18274737/

Note the map in the article shows Texas as leading the nation with 28 wrongly convicted cleared through DNA evidence.

I wonder how many wrongly convicted were executed under Governor GW Bush's reign?

b0und (wanna take a guess?)

Unfortunatly , under a Federal Law they are not entitled to any monetary compensation.

I recently heard about a NYC sanitation worker who spent like 20yrs in prison then got released on DNA info..they paid him 20yrs salary as if he never left..got his annual increases calculated in...stilll not bad..better than nothing...

I would get locked up on purpose for 3 years if that is true.
