The rivalry started around 1974 when Jacksons Knicks beat Rileys team (Lakers?).
Riley did great with the Lakers as coach....my lab could have coached that team to the playoffs though.
Jacksons Bulls owned the Knicks that Riley coached.
Riley has about 4 league championships on his coaching resume.
Jackson has about 10 on his resume.
Riley has gone back to coaching the Heat who were faltering at about .500. They have gone 4-1 since his return.
Jackson is back to wwork with the Lakers and has them in the running for the playoffs.
I say that Jackson(Lakers) is the better coach but the Heat(Riley) is the better team.
This could be interesting. I see the Lakers exceeeding pre season expectations but Jackson is missing something that was valuable in the past. A center named O'neal.
Lakers will get into 2nd round of play offs. Heat will get to third round.
