oatmeal instant

I'm here to learn about oatmeal so give me the truth and facts. Do you guys mess with oatmeal at all and if so do you get the raw ones or do you just get the instant ones in the packages that you just add water to and throw in the microwave? I'm thinking of using this for breakfast
