I have been using the patch (OrthoEvra) but w/ all the gym time & going swimming, my patches keep falling off.
Was thinking of switching to that NuvaRing thing....not sure how comfortable it would be or if your partner could tell...

I "broke" my back playing ball in '99. My actual injury is two stress fractures (compression fractures) at L4-5 w/ some disc herniation and spondololysis of L5 which led to spondololisthesis. Not sure if all that spelling was right or not.
Anyway - the pain actually ended my...
Goals for 6wk Challenge:
1. Lose 15lbs.
2. Increase Leg Press by 75lbs.
3. Increase Squat by 30lbs w/o re-injuring my back.
4. Stick firmly to CKD.
5. Figure out routine to balance gym around nights when I have class.
Stats as of 7/28:
160lbs @ 5'7"
Waist: 34"
Leg Press: 205lbs

Would HIIT be effective while on a CKD diet or would it not be enough to send the body into ketosis?
Want to do the 6 wk challenge and wondering if I should stick to my same cardio (alternate aerobics & elliptical work) or go the HIIT route?
Any ideas?

I'm in too. I just started my CKD diet/program so 6 weeks will be a good marker for my progress. (Plus it is half way between the time I allowed myself to hit goal weight).

Unfortunately - stress fractures sometimes take longer to heal than a regular break! Especially if its in an area (like your foot) where it is going to be "stressed" often.
Depending on your age will depend on how it heals. I have two stress fractures at L4-5 in my lower back and they will...
Not sure how true this is....BUT someone once told me that if you don't "suck your abs in tight" while you are working them, your muscles will tend to pop out....if you suck them in, they will flatten.
