I normally eat plain oats (I know, very boring :D) but occasionally I'll cut up a little bit of fresh apple and sprinkle some cinnamin in there as well. Tastes much better than any instant "apples n' cinnamin" and is much better for you.
I agree. I try to get most of my nutrients from real food.
IMO you should eat about 1.5-2 hours before hitting the gym, have a shake right before and right after your workout.
