    Heart enlargement?????????

You have a Holter Monitor on right now to check activity for 24 hours. Many EKG's are wrong on athletes. I have posted similar information on other posts. Athlete's are prone to larger hearts and an EKG can come back abnormal on athletes. When you exert yourself running, playing football...

On HRT, total test levels through the roof on therapeutic dose

Actually, normal can be up to from 300-1080. Different labs, different hospitals, different doctors...they all have different normal ranges. There is no standard with Total Testosterone. It changes every year. What was normal last year at 900 is normal this year at 1000.

one for a doc (boring to everyone else)

To elaborate to those who do not know about Azathioprine: This is how it works: Azathioprine disrupts the synthesis of DNA and RNA. This means that it disrupts cell division and that tissues with relatively rapid cell division are especially prone to its effects. In the treatment of immune...

one for a doc (boring to everyone else)

Are you on Azathioprine for a Kidney Transplant or RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis)? I assume RA since you were taking the anti-inflamm drug before. Azathioprine can cause an increase in cancer risk when used long-term. This particular risk increases in patients with a prior history of treatment with...

Family history of heart disease...still safe to start AS????

djufo - your dad should have a "heart rythm" (pulse) on his wrist - in fact, he should have two. They should be side by side with one mildly weaker than the other. One is the Ulnar Artery (weaker) and the other is the Radial Artery (stronger). They removed a vein from his arm for cardiac bypass...

    vascular surgery

The red dots are likely from your swelling, not necessarily a sign of poor circulation or healing. You will likely be down for 7-10 days and back to your full activity in about 3 weeks. After a few days of recovery, walking will be good for you to promote better flow to the area and this will...

    vascular surgery

The veins your physician is going to cut out is a Superficial vein (this meaning it is outside the muscle fascia and just below the skin). These can develop varicosities. It is likely if you are being cut at the groin that you are having the Saphenous Vein removed (this is one of the larger...

Family history of heart disease...still safe to start AS????

Punch...no problem. I am sure by tweaking your diet and routine, you surely can get a little more muscle mass. Whatever you decide, just do not make a spur of the moment decision. Your decision and family history could affect all of those that are around you. I should know...I lost my older...

Family history of heart disease...still safe to start AS????

I can tell you that Test will lower your HDL (good) even further and could elevate your LDL (bad) even higher. It sounds that you have a family history of atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia (increased lipid build-up which causes plaque inside the arterial walls). First of all, I would imagine...
