Trained all my life, loved every minute of it. Well, apart from the pain of following misguided training tips when I was younger. I have not been able to squat since I was 24 years old! At 40, I know I've missed out on some huge quads and a ton of strength.
But if there is a will, there is always a way! When you get an injury which is going to be with you for life, find a way to train around it.
Duh, lifting and cardio! (LOL...)
