Alienware computers are very highly rated. They're expensive because they use ALL top shelf parts, unlike a Dell or Gateway which is more likely spec'ed for price over performance. If you play alot of games it's worth the price but it will always be cheaper to build yourself.

I had the opposite problem. I did nothing but pulldowns for the first 4 yrs so I had tons of width and zero thickness. I'm still playing catchup today.
