Both a girlfriend experience and a pornstar experience have their attractions, but I doubt that one is very likely to get the benefits of either from a hooker. A really talented hooker could no doubt give a pornstar experience, but she'd charge a lot for the privilege, I'm sure.

I think that's hit the nail on the head. Here it's the intention, and the context, rather than the action itself. After all, sex is degrading in the context of rape or power-games, but it's not degrading per se (obviously).
