Vitex stimulates the pituitary to releas LH, and therefor in WOMAN will increase progesterone production by the overies. Since men do not have overies I don't see how vitex could raise progesterone leves in men. It also decreases prolactin levels. Prolactin stimulates the growth of breast tissue.
