I am by no means an authority... But IMO with minor experience in bathtub chemistry there are several reasons why impurities or other "suspect" particles might be in your oil... 1. that could either be indicative of a degraded or ripped Whatman FIlter (assuming you are using a 0.45 µm filter)...
