I've lived in this house for about 14 years.......it's a "row home" type house....like a town house but smaller & in the city. I don't think I can take the neighborhood anymore......

Came home from my step daughter's graduation party -- there was NO alcohol so I wasn't drinking.....went to parallel park the car & some jerk is behind me & before I can attempt to do it, he's screaming yelling, beeping -- I can't parallel park my truck with all this....we called the cops but they haven't shown up....Well my neighbor across the street yells at me for causing a scene -- asking why do I have to start a war? blah blah blah.....How is it my fault?? I'm just trying to park my car!!

Any tips on selling a house?? This was my first house.....I don't know where to start!

Yeah right!! I'm sooo upset -- I don't understand why my neighbor across the street is yelling at me?????? It's hard enuf to parallel park a car, let alone a truck, when someone is beeping, screaming & yelling.....then my neighbor's screaming at me like I caused the whole thing....

I can't take this anymore...

rent it out for more than your payments and then simply move... eventually it will be an investment and you will own it as well.

GEt it appraised, then go to a reputable realtor, wait. When someone buys it, in the meantime, and you're ready to move into a new house, make sure you organize everything. It'll save a lot of time and headaches.

OK here's the deal: from a reputable person I was advised to get a CMA -- a market analysis on the house.....I'm calling the real estate agency tomorrow.....also tomorrow I'm going thru crap & throw out stuff & box up stuff to be donated....

I personally am willing to sell it to the local crack den dealer so he can F**K with everyone on the block......

Pretty much for now yeah......so as you said I'm not working but should have a good amount for a down payment......I like DE, it's a pretty good state to live in.....hubby wants to get an apt.....but I kinda want a driveway....

Man I wish I had been able to keep my parents house.................

You might want to look at the townhome or garden apartment type of condo. The apartment I rent has parking off street.

Yeah, I may look into that, but to me getting an apt/condo isn't too different than what we have as we still have to put up with people....at least with a type of single family home there's space in between you and others.....

Get multiple CMA's, and make certain they explain to you how the comparable sales and listings relate to your own. If you have the time, drive by some of the homes to compare. The listings often times you can arrange to visit. The reason being it will help you gage a realistic understanding of the markets value, especially by comparing your home to what's currently available and recently sold.

If you are going to list, try to find someone who "lists" a great deal in your area. Not just the company, but the specific agents. In the same office you can have vets and relative newcomers to the business. Generally speaking you can determine who is the best by looking at the names of the agents on the signs (as in who is the most active).

If you have some cosmetic things that need doing, it's likely worth the time and effort. Painting etc etc can really help a sale. Think of it like selling your car. You'd have to be an idiot not to take it to the carwash first, same thing applies to the house.

If the market is very strong where you are, you can try selling it yourself, or at minimum only sign at a 3-4% commission.
