"Common mistakes" for Begginers

Just something I found, thought I would share here for newbs.

Common Mistakes With Anabolic Steroids

1. Using Excessive Dosages
When taking steroids, the more you take is not always the best way to go. Taking excessive dosages has become a huge problem with steroids today. It isn't only dangerous, but studies have shown it to be ineffective. The body can only use a limited amount of the steroid so the extra is turned into estrogen by the body.

2. Staying On Steroids Too Long
In several cases, steroid users avoid warning signs telling them not to go on a cycle more than 8 to 12 weeks without an off period. If an off period is not taken, there is a higher chance for the negative effects of steroids to occur. If there is no off period the body does not have a chance to recover from the steroids, so more damage is done. This also is terrible for the kidneys and liver.

3. Eating Poorly
Many people ignore magazines and educators that explain eating as being an important asset to growing, but the truth is, eating healthy has a big effect on the body. When on steroids the user must consume at least 4000+ calories per day to gain muscle. The diet must be high in calories, protein, and carbohydrates.

4. Training Incorrectly
When on steroids the training must be intense and difficult. Instead of the usual weight that suits you, you must do excess weight and strenuous work for the best gains. The workout should involve the maximum weight possible, and make progress each time.

5. Not Getting Regular Blood Tests
Steroids are very dangerous and can cause great problems. Blood tests should be done often and regularly. When steroids are first taken many tests become elevated but will return to normal with in a few weeks. During the off period tests should also be done to make sure the body is recovering properly. If there is a problem with the Blood test, consult a doctor that you can trust.

6. Using The Wrong Steroids
Many athletes will increase their chances of getting negative effects when they take the wrong steroids. The strongest steroids that build more muscle mass, have the most side effects. These drugs should be avoided if possible, unless there is a reason to have an unbelievable gain. But these drugs are very toxic and I would recommend not taking them.

7. Using Counterfeits
Counterfeit steroids are a bigger problem than you would believe, there are more counterfeit steroids in the market than you would think. These steroids offer no positive gains, and some give the side effects of real steroids. Taking counterfeit steroids is like injecting poison into your body, bad effects nothing positive.

"ok" thread... #2 is VERY debatable.

I'll hop on the bandwagon and agree #1 is the main concern most of the time with the Novices.

I agree with you on that. My last cycle was a 20 wker and all is well as if I was to do a 12....maybe I should change it?

Not on this board, but on many others, I have seen the newbie advised to start at 1 gram of test a week.....so many think more is better.

Eating Poorly, I'd put that on top of my list. DIET is key....

i agree with Mr. X, if you have been on cycle you know what happens. you're muscles get big, you get stronger, but how much you get out of it really is your diet. 1.5-2g of protein per lb of body weight and i like varying between 150-250 carbs, depending on my goals (25g carb per meal compared to 35-40g carb per meal) @ 7 meals

I disagree with 1 and 2 if you want to get big. Like most people on this board in 2000-2002 found out, larger cycles are the way to go your first time out. It's your best chance to grow and you don't get a second chance at a first cycle. The biggest problem I see is not that people use too much it's that they use too little and then have to do another cycle with higher doses soon afterwards to get close to their goals. Also staying on 20 weeks is no more dangerous than staying on 10 weeks. It's just ineffective because the gains slow so dramatically in weeks 9-10. There is little evidence that #1 or #2 is true at all, that's myth.

That said, the board has changed, as I've posted many times. People here are no longer looking for mass and size but rather just to look good at the beach, or even more common, a fat loss plan. So maybe there is some validity in #1 for that reason. But if you're looking to be a body builder and not "I wanna look like Brad Pitt and get laid more", then larger doses are very important your first time out.

Larger = 1000mg+/wk
