how much rest is needed?

all i ever hear is that you need to eat, rest and workout when your on a cycle.

but how much sleep is needed?

normal people need about 8 hours of sleep a night to function properly the next day...but how much should us cycling BB get?
 
When I'm on cycle I try to get at least 8 hours, but try to get at least 10... I have an internal clock that usually wakes me up at the 9 hour mark though. But sometimes on cycle I have the worst insomnia, I can't go to sleep no matter how hard I try... On the last cycle I was at the point where I wanted to go to my doc and tell him I can't sleep and give me some Ambien... But they'll only give you a 2 week supply... So, I went with GHB, that worked, but sometimes I woke up not feeling too good.... Anyone know any good supps that will knock me out so I can get the sleep I need?
 
I am considering downing a couple gulps of NyQuil, that always worked when I needed sleep in college the past semester... I think me and my roommate went through 9-10 bottles of it in one semester getting to sleep..... I wish I had something to take right now! I gotta go running in 2 hours and 45 minutes!
 
I get 9 a night. I cut water intake an hour before bed so I'm not constantly getting up to piss. Also, rest isn't just sleep. It's the whole time your not in the gym. I nap for an hour every day as well. I may not fall asleep but I doze off into a nice deep relaxed state. I usually take my nap prior to training. Sounds over complicated, but I don't do anything physical outside the gym. I get all my activity while in the gym so I can foccus on resting and growing when I'm not there. About the most physical thing I do is preparing meals or running the vaccum. I don't do anything that will burn significant calories and thus interfere with recuiperation and hypertrophy. Sounds anal and it indeed is, but it takes sacrifice to do this. Most of the time I am reading and studying all day so it works out quite well. I sit around all day and grow, then go to the gym to induce growth. You grow while at rest...It's as simple as that.
