how many of you bros ride either mountain bikes or 12, 15, 200 speeds as a form of cardio? just curious, i wanted to maybe implement a morning ride as cardio to start my morning before work and then just train at night. save time and be more efficient in fat burning. just wondering if anyone does this regularly instead of the bikes at the gym or the stepper, treads etc. any thoughts?

I bike for cardio in the mornings before work/class.........works well as i really enjoy my mountain bike. usually, ill go for 8 miles........takes roughly 30-40min at a good cardio rate for me to finish.......ride back home and all is good. if you enjoy biking like i do then youll really enjoy this.......biking stationary is to damn boring

I ride an mtn bike for cardio work. I usually don't do real mtn biking since it'd take a while to get there, but I do ride on the bike path next to the river. I usually try to do some interval training when I ride. Periods of sprints followed by periods of slower paced cycling. When I get to my turning around point I'm usually too tired to do the sprints anymore so it's more of a relaxed pace on the way home. Good way to break up the monotany of cardio though.

cool thanks for the input bros. i think i want to give it a shot. i hate to sit and do cardio at the gym when i could be outside or at least not staring at the tv. i planned on hitting some "sprints" or some hills as well, to get the legs up a bit. should be good for fast twitch stim to put on some good definition and strength along with what i put them through at the gym hehe.
