I'm presently working the Director of Systems Security for a "dotcom" company. But I used to work for the NSA (National Security Agency) back when the web first started (1992). From experience I can tell you that most law enforcement agencies couldn't track your IP back to you if their jobs depended on it. But, they have the ability to outsource this job to someone who can. And all logs from chat rooms, bulletin boards and other electronic communications are allowed as evidence in court. Just always post on the safe side, if you think this is anonymous you'd better think again. Never post something that will raise red flags. Its fine to post your stack, but its not legal (or smart) to post a stack for sale. Steroids are a class III drug and are treated as such in most cases. Just post wisely IP: Logged |

i friend of mine is a computer science major. he's working on a program that scrambles ip address and NIC address ( network interface card address) sounds cool. but for u guys using ICQ you can dissable your IP address from being shown on your info page. this will help a little i guess.
