I have been reading as much as I can about insulin response, blood sugar levels etc but have a question. My blood sugar is always on the low side of normal/bordrline hypoglycemic. Does this make it harder for me to lose fat?

How are you determining that your sugars are low and why are they low? What kind of diet are you on? Typically, hypoglycemics are thin...or at least that's been my experience.

my grandmother is a diebetic and I use her glucometer. Actually I haven't checked it since I cleaned up the way I was eating. Think the last time I had it done was when I was on the all you can drink pepsi diet .

I was reading a book a loooonnnng time ago, and I'll be damned if I can remember too much about it other than it capitalized on the misdiagnosis of hypoglycemia. In this book, hypoglycemia was too often resultant of poor diet....I think the focus was sugar (?) I was a lot younger and life was substantially more hectic....school full time and working full time...no car...sleeping on the bus in between. Anyway, I was living out of vending machines and became suicidally depressed. Went away when I cleaned up my diet.

I could be way off base here, but my gutt is telling me that you were experiencing similar reactions to poor diet. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have yourself tested to either confirm your findings or dispell.

Tell me more about the changes you've made: how you feel as a result. Give me more info on the "not losing weight" part.

If you go the post Fitnesschick??? it give a rundown of where I've been and where I am at. I am losing the fat but not fast enough to suit me and realize that I am maybe just being impatient. I'm down 35# since the first of the year and have added muscle. It seems that my body has very little margin for error - I can pack on fat faster than anyone you ever saw. I am going to have my sugar checked now that I have cleaned up my diet - I know that I don't have those extreme lows anymore where I can't function. Please read my previous posts as I would like your input.
Also if you wouldn't mind looking at the more questions post I'd appreciate it - I'll bump both of them.
