well first off, i wanna thank all u people who r helpin me out here.

i know i probably dont need to be worrying so much cause im 13. most of my friends dont even think about fitness stuff. but im just so concerned. im so active; i love having the ability to play sports and stuff so i really wanna stay in shape and everything.

i play soccer almost year round. i had my off season like, last february. ive been training twice a week for two hours ever since. but for me, it doesnt feel like that is enough fitness for me. i need to start running at home to get in better shape. but im not sure how far or how long or at what speed i should be running. i prefer running on ground rather than tredmills because i get dizzy after tredmills and it just doesnt seem like the right feeling. i was thinking i should vary my runs: some days i could go long for endurance training, then other days i could run up the hill next to my block for strength training. what kind of cardiovascular stuff do u think i should do?

well, pretty much i just wanna get in shape. so, i guess it would be endurance. a game is 70 min long w/ a 10 min halftime. its hard work and my team has high expectations for the season. i wanna be able to keep up with whatever my coach has planned.

What you think about running 440's MS? Maybe do a four pack. Would be mid-range in distance and still give some all out effort. Heck, all I've ever used was a football...

For Ali: Try to consider other items besides exercise that might cause grown-ups to loose their once healthy and lithe shape.

One potential 'gotcha' concerns the unbalanced starch/sugar-based meal plans typically offered at colleges. It's a really bad idea to subsist on just bread/noodles to save money for beer. A few months of this abuse can undo what you're trying so hard to accomplish now. Independence is great -just remember not to sacrifice a wholesome diet along the way.

Any sort of hormonal imbalance is usually Bad news. Taking some corticosteroids for a long while can distend fat cells. Prolonged mental stress isn't good either.

Forwarned is forearmed.
