Actually...I have gone through so many partners it doesn't even matter any more. No one has the same desire I have and they usually can't hang hang after about 1 month. I have trained for all my BB shows by myself. All my friends have families and can't dedicate the amount of time that I do in the gym anyways. Oh well........ When I go heavy, there is always someone there to spot me anyway.

I'm in the same situation. Its hard to find someone who can accomidate my schedule with work and shit. I hate having to ask people for spots for my heavy lifts until failure.
Motivation is also increased because you know that you are always compeating with your lifting partner so the workouts are more intense. Man I really need another partner.---PEACE---

Yeah...you're right. I miss that competition between partners. It's like you always have to out lift the other on every set. It is a really good motivation thingy going on there. Good, friendly competition that is.

training by yourself sucks....especially when you feel unmotivated or tired....on those days break out the old trusty ultimate orange....and what is even worse is looking around the gym to try & find someone with a clue to give you a spot...its easier for me being a chik, but i watched a guy almost break my boyfriends shoulder ne day...he was doing 130 lb. dmbll shoulder presses & asked a guy to lift one dumbell onto his shoulder for him...& then to simply step back,,,well the guy brings the dumbell up on its end& moves away with my boyfriend trying to grip the weight...i couldnt believe the guy was such a bozo...its just that i wonder what did he think he was gonna do with that weight...1 arm tricep ext.'s with 130's in each hand....duh....anyway, sorry to rant, but i do wish you luck in your solo training....watch out for the morons

A good workout partner or partners are extremely hard to find most people are imbeciles who have no idea how to properly train. And most people would rather go on doing the wrong thing than admit failure or ignorance and learn from it.

Sorry for ya. I always wondered if the lonely guys wanted it that way. I have had the same lifting partner for 2 years, when I started. He is my brother, and has the same goals I do.

I have been lifting at home by myself for years. I have just grown used to it. I have to realy focus and concentrate on lifts because no one is there to save my ass. Lately my wife and I have been lifting together but she refuses to spot for me. I guess the weight scares her.
It has turn into more of a mental battle for me. It's all about convicing myself to do more and trust that I won't fuk up.
I'm like E2 in that even if I'm not in the mood to lift once I start I don't want to leave the gym.

I say we start our own gym, round up al lthe musclehedz in here, and just make out own gym. that way, if u need a training partner with the same attitude and goals as yourself u just have to turn around.

Yeah, i can picture it now. you walk into the gym and the atmosphere just hits you smack in the face.
thi first thing u notice is the huuuge selectin of supplements and "vitamins" behind the desk. or should i say behind the huge fucker, wich today happends to be Fish.
then when u walk into the gym u see nothing but blood, sweat and tears.
U see Conan69 squatting his ass to the floor in one corner, while Fitnesschick is spotting him. On the benchm with the bent barbell, FlexB is pounding out those reps, while Cleaner is shouting for more. Spoonman counts his reps by naming all the movies he saw last night, while E2 struggles to his feet after a grueling set of donkey calfraises. El cubano laughs his ass of while MattTheSkywalker jumps around cursing cuz he slammed the 200lbs dumbells on his own feet.
now THATS the kinda gym i want...

ive never had a partner so i don't know what it's like. personaly i like being by myself, and just getting a spot when you need it. im going to work w/ a bb this summer and see if it helps. the thing is i'll be mid way through my cycle and he's completly against gear, so it's going to be wirred training w. him.

i like working out by myself. it allows me to concentrate more and to really focus. besides, when your going heavy and you don't have a spotter, you will be amazed at the things you can do out of necessity. in my opinion its all mental...just know your limit though.

I definitely have better rhythm and focus without a partner. Had a partner for a year until recently, and it was good that there was someone counting on me to drag-ass outta bed and into the gym, but the workouts themselves were MUCH slower.

No partner, I just get a spot if needed.

Sometimes I wish I did have one to get my lazy ass motivated!!!

Here's a suggestion, George should open a franchinsed nationwide gym. That would solve a lot of problems for us all, all members only, all tight bro's no roids on premises and kick out all cops by asking the question "are you a law enforcement officer?" If so you will be asked to leave and you will be photographed too. And your photos will be posted on the board, it's completey legal to do so. Cops do not have more rights than other citizens and they have no right to be private citizens at all they are public employees, that's the penalty for their choice of careers. If they don't like it, then don't be cop. Period. No mercy for them, they made a choice and there are always ramifications for that choice. Just like any job...
