Please tell me you other guysdon't take this clown seriously. This guy is so full of shit, I think, he's even started to believe his own bullshit. Those people he (ehem)..."helps" c'mon... they are so desperate, they are ready and wanting to believe almost anything he tells them. Sad, how religion dictates, weakens, plays into people's lives and spirit. They think we are all going to be sitting on clouds with angelic beings playing harps, meet up with grandma and grandpa, and lets all go see "God." Oh,...do we need to make an appointment?"

(lol) Sad, I think.

I brought religion into the thread since you don't see too many athiests at his shows.

As an athiest, I hope I would be able to meet dead relatives, and loved ones, but I have no idea on this. It would be nice. But I believe whatever happens, it has nothing to do with a being known as "God" or anything in the Bibles or organized religion. This I believe.

if you are talking about christians here, you are dead wrong.

christianity prohibits the use of any of this kind of medium to attempt to contact the dead.

the birth control issue is with catholicism, not the mainstream of christianity.

pre-marital sex is frowned upon because of all of the potential negative consequences that can result from it, thus they prohibit it. kind of like how jews were forbidden to eat certain types of meat, which served both symbolic and practical reasons (certain types of foods were more likely to go bad and get someone sick, so they just stayed away from them).

abortion is frowned upon because it is ending an innocent life which did nothing more than simply exist.

in the bible they made several points about why attempting to use such things as spirtualists and soothsayers was not to be taken lightly.

I'm just saying that people are at best hypocrites.....

especially the Catholics...

Christians also don't believe in pre-marital sex, birth control or abortion.

pre-marital sex is frowned upon because of all of the potential negative consequences that can result from it (which is quite apparent in today's society, dont you agree?), thus they prohibit it. kind of like how jews were forbidden to eat certain types of meat, which served both symbolic and practical reasons (certain types of foods were more likely to go bad and get someone sick, so they just stayed away from them).

even sexual thoughts are a sin, everything is a sin, the church is money hungry, the bible is just a story based on 3% truth

Do you think a rightous god would want us to kill for him?

I dont even want to start

FYI, I am agnostic

Too late to get this deep.
It has just been my experience that a specific faith has then greatest difficult practicing what they preach but will near skin you alive if you do something against their religious beliefs.

No one's perfect - it's ok not to follow everything to the t but don't rip on others for the very same things that you can't follow.

(You figurative not you poyeboy)

The moment the little fetus can live on its own. That is the definition of life. Until that moment (sometime in the 3rd trimester) it is only a parasite or tumor.

yeah actually I do believe tubedick is right, technically in order for something to be living it has to self sustaining

what about a sperm and an egg, are they alive?

or skin cells, technically they are more alive thana baby? they are self sustaining, they dont get married, so are they going to hell for premarital Mitosis or Meiosis?

organized religion has gotten a bad rap lately, there is no denying that. look at all of the catholic priests, the reverend al sharptons, the tammy faye bakers, televangelist creeps on tv; they all used religion as a tool to get something out of others, be it personal/political power, money, etc.

they pretty much took something sacred and holy and tried to solely make something off of it. that's how things got fucked up.

if you were to read the words of people like jesus christ for yourself (not go on hear-say) and actually try to anazlyze, understand, and reflect on them, would there be much you disagree with? could you find a lot of negativity buried in there? highly unlikely.

religion should be a very personal thing; not this fake, pompous, hypocritical bullshit you see on your tv's and witness from people who say they 'believe.'

the only time religion gets fucked up is when man gets involved.

Sperm, eggs, cells might be alive in the human body, but they die on their own.

Now, if you are talking about replicating cells in a petrie dish, then we can add that in order for something to be a life (in the animal sense) then it has to have some sort of brain to guide growth and such. And as you know, petrie dish cells do not think. They multiply.

I 100% agree with you, I did go to church from the time I was 2 till the time I was 16, I was in communion and all that jazz so I know some shit about it, I do agree that the bible has some good stuff in it, I wasnt bashing at all, I was saying that is it made up, or based off true occurences and then exagerated, cmon can you really tell me that the Noahs ark story makes sence? or that someone was around in the garden of eden writting about adam and eve? they are made up stories my friend.

i guess we can get an answer once and for all about noah's ark once the turkish government stops banning explorers from search mount ararat and mount cudi.

I was just scoping out a Gideons this past weekend at my hotel.I was tripping at some of the near immortality of the original men:
Adam lived for 930 years.
Noah lived for 950 years.

thing is though, the ark amy be real, the ark of the covenant may be real

but does the Noah story really make sense?

and huck, thats partly when I decided to turn agnostic, I was 14 and asked my religion teacher about those people living for hundreds of years and father abraham having like 280 sons, she said people lived so long because there were no diseases and what not. BS, shits made up, bottom line

whatever, do you hear of any stories like those that happened in the bible in todays day and age? not really, and why is that?
