The "Sports Supplement Industry" is flooded with useless products. This is no secret to the majority of EliteFitness members. In general, I would argue that MOST bodybuilding supplements are useless products and most are based on very little actual science.

Having said that, I still believe that are a large number of natural supplements that confer a tremendous value to the bodybuilder and athlete alike, and that the supplement industry overall has come a long way. Many of these natural supplements are not new, they are simply IMPROVED variations of previously existing ingredients.

Take Tribulus Terrestris plant for example, which has been used for YEARS by bodybuilders in an attempt to increase strength and natural testosterone levels. In the early 80's, bodybuilders were simply ingesting large amounts of the raw herb, requiring upwards of 3grams everyday just for an effect. Now, we have POWERFUL Tribulus extracts that are STANDARDIZED to contain at least 10% of the active, Protodioscin. Recently, we have even developed methods for producing a 20% and 40% Protodioscin extract! As you can see, a marginally effective product like Tribulus has become an EXTREMELY effective testosterone booster due to these recent advances in nutraceutical technology.

So, let's talk about ECDYSTERONE. Ecdysterone is technically an ANABOLIC STEROID itself. However, unlike other Anabolic Steroids, Ecdysterone is NOT derived from Testosterone(or ANY androgen[male sex hormone]), so it posesses absolutely no androgenic activity whatsoever. Ecdysterone is a hormone abundant in nature, found in several plants and even insects! Ecdysterone, in my opinion, is the single most valuable natural bodybuilding supplement aside from good ol' Creatine.

However, just like Tribulus extraction methods have progressed, Ecdysterone extraction processes have evolved drastically within the last 20 years. We now have the capacity to harnass the power of PURE(99%) Ecdysterone, which is a powerful anabolic steroid with absolutely NO ANDROGENIC ACTIVITY whatsoever. Being an advanced bodybuilder myself, I have indeed experiemented with various anabolic steroids. Ecdysterone is DEFINITELY comparable to mild anabolics such as Primobolan, Anavar, and even Equipoise. I get incredible endurance, great muscle hardness, and a definite increase in strength and muscle mass. My appetite also goes through the roof! The pro-anabolic, nitrogen enhancing effect of Ecdysterone is even more apparent in a calorie defecit.

Omnibolic contains 99% PURE Ecdysterone serived from Russian Rhaponticum Carthamoides. With the addition of the powerful Steroidal Sapogenin 6-Keto Diosgenin, the patented Bioperine, and a whopping dosage of Citrulline Malate, we firmly believe we have created the ULTIMATE natural anabolic supplement.

I found this on your Ecdysterone. Side effects are still common.

"Despite lacking FDA approval and being largely illegal in the Western World, it has proven to be moderately successful as a commercial product in the countries in which it is produced, likely due to its efficacy in promoting muscle growth and fat loss, and lower frequency of side-effects usually associated with anabolic steroids. Such side effects are still fairly common, however, as a result of increased testosterone and DHT production, and include androgenic changes in females such as growth of facial and body hair and deepening of the voice, as well as gastrointestinal problems for both sexes, such as nausea, bloating, and diarrhoea. Clinical studies by ICN Pharmaceuticals demonstrated that the results are further improved when the drug is combined with a high-protein diet, to the point of equaling or even surpassing the beneficial effects of conventionally derived steroids such as Dianabol [3][4]. The same studies showed the effective dose for a human to be around 5 mg per kg of body mass, daily. The compound becomes toxic only at doses of 6400 mg per kg of body mass per day."

This study from 1988 is what got us all excited about ecdysterones. As it turned out, it didn't do anything for anybody at any dosage. It could be another case of bypassing the digestive system. (No mention as to how it was administered in the study). Now it's back. I'm sure boron can't be far behind. (Actually boron has some legitimate benefits). Maybe Ross's new formulation has made it more bioavailable. With the heavy claim of effectiveness I guess we'll all know soon enough after a few people try it.

Interesting to find out...I have heard good reviews on his product...as well as bad. Par for the course for any supp.

That paragraph makes no sense, ECDYSTERONE DOES NOT INCREASE TESTOSTERONE OR DHT. It simply says that because Ecdysterone is classified as an anabolic steroid, that is from Wikepedia.

CONCLUSION: Results indicate that Methoxyisoflavone, Ecdysterone, and Sulfo-Polysaccharide Supplementation supplementation do not affect body composition or training adaptations nor do they influence the anabolic/catabolic hormone status or general markers of catabolism in resistance-trained males.Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. 3(2): 19-27, 2006
