Is it illegal to send alcohol or wine in the mail?

I was in the post office when someone wanted them to package and ship their wine. They basically told them to package it themselves and then they would ship it. Kinda like, "If we don't see it, it isn't breaking the law."

So just package it up nicely and ship it. It is against the law though, I think more for safety reasons because it is flammable.

I used to work in a managerial (sp?) with a large well known package carrier and I can tell you that yes it is illegal. However just make sure you pack it real well so that it doesn't break and lie/don't tell them whats in the box. You'll be fine. If it breaks in the mail and they find it they'll just pitch it.

I bought a bottle of Sake from a Japanese guy on Ebay. It was nice; he didn't ask for any age verification. Ebay has a whole section on wine, so I am guessing it is legal.

You have more concern about breaking the law for your grandmother, than you do for ME??

Hmmphh!

i think Ive seen websites that sell alcohol online. Im not sure how that works though.
