Olympia 2006 Women's Body Building Pics - Pre Judging

I was pleasantly suprised to see how feminine these women looked. Iris Kyle in particular. She had a beautiful hour glass figure and is one of the nicest people I've met.

It was really cool. I went to the Orleans fitness center Saturday morning. I did my workout with the weights (shoulders/back) and then got on the treadmill. About 5 minutes into it, Iris Kyle stepped on the treadmill to my left and Amber Littlejohn stepped on the treadmill to my left. lolol Iris made me look really small, and I had more muscle than Amber Littlejohn - so we looked like a S M L. I was excited, dammit.


I got a chance to talk to Iris in the locker room yesterday and also this morning at the seminar. She asked me if I was competing and I told her I wanted to next year. She asked me how tall I was and how much I weighed - then told me I had the physique for bb and though I'd do well and to email her or call her. She gave me her cell phone number. lolol Holy .

I know a lot of you don't like women's body building, but I was in awe of her physique. She has an ass you can bounce quarters off of, and a tiny waist. I don't have any aspirations of getting that big, but I her body in general is, IMO almost perfect.

Dr. Dena Westerfield looked really good (her first Olympia), and so did Brenda Raganot. Both these women have smaller physiques, and bounce back and forth between light and heavy.

She didn't look very good. I was surprised, as well.

Thx TSO - they all look great. Yaxeni has been one of the last of the "old school big girls" -- it becomes really hard for a heavy wt to get a "softer look" w/o getting too squishy. Iris is sort of the "next one in line". The smaller girls like Brenda Raganot have an easier time of wearing the size better.

Damn Betty! 48 yrs old! She looks friggen awesome! Lisa Aukland IMO wears it all the best. I've actually trained w/ Dayana Cadeau in FL. Nice lady. Friggen solid.

While the BB ladies, are hella big for my taste, it's nice to see them putting of a more feminine look.

Yea I knew she was up there somewhere - but she's fucking amazing. I consider her one of my "heros".

She DID look awesome. Up close and on stage. I agree.



I was really impressed at how these women looked. I didn't know what to expect, quite frankly. I think I was afraid I'd be looking at a bunch of manly women. lolol A couple of them were questionable, but for the most part, there was no doubt these women were women. Even my boyfriend agreed. Jeff was really impressed. the pictures posted are from his camera, and I know he wouldn't have taken pics if he didn't like what he was looking at.

Its been a few yrs since they started this "20% softer" stuff and it mostly just meant a lot of the bigger ladies like Yaxeni & Iris were just big & softer = squishier. But they kept judging for them, why? Maybe political as they can't just let the traditionally top rankers get bumped for that. Could be they have finally sized down enough, i.e. body transformation time, to get to wherever the judges are trying to go.

Betty looks amazing I saw her at the 04 Arnold and she not only looks great for her age but has maintained a great deal of feminity which says a lot for the possible longgivity of female BB.

I bought a program so I could check out their stats - I was also curious to see what weight they were coming in at.

Dayana Cadeau:

Age: 40
Height 5'4"
Contest Weight: 135

Lisa Aukland:

Age: 48
Height 5'4"
Contest Weight: 152

Iris Kyle:

Age: 32
Height: 5'7"
Weight (didn't say 'contest weight") 162
I think she weighed less. Maybe 10 lbs less.

Yaxeni:

Age: 40
Height: 170
Weight (didn't say 'contest weight") 170 she looked to be at this weight.


Betty Pariso
Age: 50
Height: 5'6"
Weight (didn't say 'contest weight") 160 - she looked to be at this weight.

Yes!! I was just talking with Jeff about this. Lotsa old, hot broads up there. Same with the guys. 33 (Jay Cutler age) was young on that stage.

Its probably fair to say that unless you happened to aspire to be a female bodybuilder or a guy who will pay a girl to either flex for him or beat him up, you won't find their size that attractive.

But from the point of competitive bodybuilders, the frame of mind is musculature, symmetry, cut/definition -- not whether or not you were "feminine enough".

I got a Q can you explain why they don't have weight classes at the level of the O? I think there is a lot more woman that might be interested in BB if there was a weight class at the top level. I mean light and middle weight BB for the most part look fantastic to me, heavy weight BB is where they tend to get a bit freakish.

That's a good question - esp when you look at the fact that they hand out pro cards to all the weight classes at the amateur level. What's the point if the little guys are gonna get knocked over by the sides of beef?

agreed. I asked myself the same question. At one point, they did have weight classes at the O. I don't know why they did away with them - probably because there weren't enough women to split them up. I think they probably could have gone with 2 classes. Light & heavy. The only problem this year is that most of the girls weighed in the middle somewhere. confusing.

Right. I don't think femininity is the goal here. I love your posts Sassy. It always cracks me up that people think a woman would put so much hard work into her body in order to live up to what they think is attractive or feminine.

I am really impressed at just how much more feminine they look these days. (well, except that Iris chick-that one was scary) I remember back in the day thinking they just looked gross.....I now take that back. These women look awesome! I can also appreciate it more now that I am starting to work out...this shit isn't easy to accomplish.

I think that Iris had problems with her beauty before she was a body builder. I don't attribute her looks to BB. While she may not be the most attractive, she's not 'manly' looking in the face. IMO, anyway.

I think this is something the figure girls should worry about, but not fbb's. Bodybuilders should not be compared or judged by their looks. Hell, look at many of the guys! Ht and I were at the Friday and the Sat shows and I was laughing at how unimpressed she got at the conditioning of the FBB's. she hates the fact that the guys can get as shreaded as they can, but the women can't! I think she's only interested in seeing Ametuer shows now where the women still get ripped!

I did see Iris in person Sat at the expo. I was impressed....

This is what I don't like about figure - they judge you on your looks as well as your physique (which they constantly want smaller and smaller). to me - it's becoming a beauty pageant. uhg.

You're right - bb should not be judged on a person's looks - although we all know it helps to be good looking. I think it's wonderful that Iris won the O - it proves that her body was the best, even though she doesn't look like a model/beautry queen. (Yay! Hope for the rest of us. lolol)
