Follow the yellow briCK ROAD – CKs journey to GET THAT Wizard(the competition) :) !

Start: September 6th
33 WEEKS OUT
Competition Date: APRIL 2007
IT WILL BE DONE!


September 7th

Phase 1
BULKING (Hypertrophy 1)
(2 days cardio/4 days weights (always begin with warm up/stretching in-between lifts)
Last week of the month cardio increase
Specific areas that need improvement/growth/strength
Back
Right side of body significantly weaker than left (will be doing single upper/lower body exercises always starting with the right side to increase strength and even out proportions)

Well it was a long road to what was supposed to be my first competition, but well worth it! I learned a lot about me, the fitness world and I know I have sooo much more to absorb. 33 weeks to what WILL be my first competition! You guys supported me for the last 7 months, never lost faith and whipped me when I got out of line. I expect the same thing this time around!

NO EXCUSES JUST RESULTS!!!

Back from quadding, dirt biking and get that whip out....... eating a lot of cake,apple crisp and had two beers which didn't sit too well.

The hotel we stayed at had a huge party the kids slept through but hubby and I did not. But we got them back in the morning with our screaming kids. soooo very,very tired. Need to go grocery shopping for food.

My hubby and I watched a 9/11 show last night instead of working on business, puts a lot of things into perspective and we went to bed very quite last night in reflection of a lot of things.

for today....

3x8 military press 22 lbs
3x8 front raise 10 lbs
3x8 side lateral raise 10 lbs
3x8 rear delt flye 55lbs

dishwasher is broken so say hellllo to the new dishwasher :) guy comes in on the 19th.

to do list
-still call for a haircut and dye
-call for one more accu appointment (it was awesome, usually I can't drive a half hour without crying cause my back is in sooo much pain, 3hour drive this weekend and half way through I realized my back wasn't sore, but what was wierd was I could feel where he inserted the needles???0 so I am going back once more cause there still was a twinge there. I am always goign to recommend accu from now on! Even my kids were asking me how my back was and they were sooo happy i wasn't in pain
- wash 500 dishes
- talk to trainer hopefully today about diet situation, she is bugging me by not calling me back
- take the kids to park
- precook chicken for hubby and I
- call the bank, and the accountant
 
Ck :heart: any idea about the diet? and you just waiting until she gives it to you or did you start something tentative?

no word yet, so I am on my own at this point, I am trying to stick to shadows diet of 139x10 but kinda went off on saturday/sunday (party, busy kids) and I am supposed to be bulking. In the beginning she gave me 2100 cals and that hasn't changed but from the decrease in cardio the pounds are coming back on and it isn't muscle :rolleyes: 142 today and not happy about it, I know the beer didn't help but it is usually gone by now so I know I have gained 6 pounds now, arrrr.

range for bulk shound not be x 10 IMO, more like x 12-15 in which 2100 cals would be more like it.. not all at once either of you'll feel like a :cow: .. I can say that b/c I've done it, bulked for 16 weeks all the way back to 180 then I stopped weighing myself ... It was a bulk/refeed I enjoyed the heck out of every bite, sip & workout. It's a mental game, you have to prevail ALWAYS.

I am trying to bulk clean, and have done well so far, minor slip this weekend, but I consider it my cheat, especially now that I am bulking. but i know that the workouts are suffering cause I am not eating enough.

She said I wouldn't gain any weight??? Cause I asked her if I should get mentally prepared for it, thinking that I might but.... sorry if I am slow on the uptake, are you saying I will be gaining weight, and I should be going back on the 2100cals? Its the scarecrow in me :)
 
You are NOT bulking IMO at 1390 cals, NO WAY... and yes I think you will gain weight on a bulk, I'd like to hear her reasonsing why you wouldn't. I didn't say you will gain mass amounts of body fat (that's where clean diet comes in).

I absolutely think you should be prepared for it, it's a goal, something different, something you are not use to, so yes, prepare yourself, but not freak about it.

I will go back on the 2100 cals. The reason for the 1390 was to bring my weight down a bit before the bulk. For some reason, 142 crept up on me but I am guessing it is because I don't do cardio everyday now.

I kinda figured I would gain a little weight. When I talk to her I will let you know what she says.

Your body is trying to adjust to all the changes you put it through, plus a poor diet (or few cheats) sure that scale will go up... even to 145 150 so be prepared and do not freak out. I would NOT jump from 1300 to 2100 overnight, you will be watery & feel 'fat' when in reality it is NOT all fat.

You are 30+ weeks out. If you want to have a few good cheats now is the time to do it, but you need to have the mental capability to cut those off when cutting time comes & flip the switch to focus on leaning out... NO ROOM for those types of slips or cheats when you get down the the wire (you've already been there, you know this).

I by no means want to provide advice different from your trainer so I'm just trying to rationalize this... My advice would to be "make her explain everything & her reasoning for it"... ask her questions, you are paying her and/or entrusting your health with her, never feel like you are asking too many questions.

Did she completely cut out the cardio for this bulk ? Bad idea IMO if so, if not, good.

Yup getting mental about it, oops I mean mentally prepared, LOL, for the nOw and the later, especially the later. I have been over weight before, but I know this time it's not being overweight so I am half way there to being prepared, but I must admit when I say the 150, it kinda freaked me out.

She didn't cut cardio completely I do it twice a week right now (one 60 min session and one 30 min session and on the last week this month I do it 3 times for 60 minutes, not sure as too the reasoning, definitly will be asking. I always start with a 10 minute warm up and burn 125 cals, but I don't know if that counts. I will have to ask her to explain, cause that kinda boggled me too???

Thank you! Actually, when I took the calve pic, I was thinking about you and wasn't sure if i was going to post it. As per my trainer, I have been doing calf raises not on stairs just on the ground and it seems to be doing the trick.

It is funny now when I wear a bra I look like I actually have some and my hubby gets excited and says to me "ooooo a bra day".

Mine aren't hiding I just have to roll them up now after having three kids LMAO!!!!

I did one of those once and the cap broke! I had blonde chunks in the back. Well the package said light ash blonde, it is more brown but that is ok I looks like my natural color now...

CK, those pics are smokin' and DAMN is all I have to say about the calf shot......workouts are looking good......let me know if you end up trying a dash of honey as pre-workout fuel.

Well I got exciting news this morning! My old boss phoned me and apparently recommended me for a job that pays 30-50 bucks an hour! This company installed a new computer system that my old company uses and they need a person to help with transfer. the job is only 2-6 months but for that money! My mom has offered to babysit for free.

Look at me talking like I already have the job!

Thanks, it is an integrated package and I would be helping with the hardware stuff.

So I tried honey and almonds I don't know if it worked or not, such a late night work out and all the exercises I did with my trainer were new!
I will try again on friday.

cable lat thing on ball 3x8=60 lbs
hanging off cables with feet on bench assisted dip thing 3x8 = bodyweight
ezbar back thing 3x8=60lbs
back lawn mower pull 3x8=30lbs
cable rope bicep twist curl thing 3x8=48lbs

like the descriptions, one thing is for sure I have been doing back exercises really wrong for a long time. For the first time tonight I felt all these in my back, and I wonder why I can't do a pull up! I wonder what it is going to feel like tomorrow! IT ROCKED TONIGHT!

as well new diet is 2600 calories, she is emailing me it tonight.

Tomorrow is just 60 minutes cardio
 
I've been adding almonds or PB in my before workout shake and I've noticed a big difference in my workouts never tried the honey though ;) Workout is looking good though!!!
