Of course I am voting for my bro again... A longstanding EF member and tireless advocate of the sport. The people's lives that have been changed after working with him are too many to count.

If anyone embodies Elite Fitness of an individual nature - it is him.

This is very shoddy, George. We already ran the voting and election and Quadsweep and I won with DT coming in to round out the winning 3. The top three ladies already have their 10,000 Karma and all we have is this run-around for another fortnight that might well leave the winners with nothing.

It is unfair and arbitrary, George, for you to remove and refuse to honour our wins without cause or explanation. Very poor and most disappointing.

Still, on with the show...

I actually do not think of much these days....diet is really hurting....waaaaa! :baby2: Really though....I guess we just see what happens...I do not think solidarity would make George drop $600 more clams on this either. He is in this to make money.

You'd have to read my profile to understand the comment I made. I actually wasn't even aware I was on the ballot for this until I saw QS's thread this morning. If it comes down to popularity I got no shot anyway so back to what I was doing before I found out. L8r!

Qsis, surely you read my earlier posts in this thread. We, Quadsweep and I, won this vote already with DT rounding out the top three. Rather than defend our joint position, Quadsweep launched a fresh election campaign. Any of us could have done it the night before but held off while requesting clarification from George.

Quadsweep seems to think George has thrown this election back out because he doesn't want to shell out for two iPods to the winners and he may be right. George seems to be refusing to comment. Quadsweep's post would indicate that he felt he had won an iPod by virtue of being joint first. I know I did just as I was expecting that the three of us were to receive our 10,000K when the ladies did.

Given that George decided he didn't like the results of the first ballot, how many times is he going to make us dance? If he were just bothered about a single iPod, he could have cast a single deciding vote himself. Why is he putting us through another two-week dance? Why is he refusing to honour the first election? If we have another tie for one of the places are we going through another one?

Quadsweep, yeah, sometimes life can be a competition and that was the point of my post. I guess I was out of line with my 'selfish' comment and I apologise. Sometimes, though, people need to work together and present a united front.

Also, as DT has pointed out, this fresh vote seems to have very little to do with profiles and has become a popularity ballot. Oddly, currently being swung by the popularity of the sister of one of the nominees. I think George screwed up on this one.

I understand what you are saying definately now. And you also know how I feel about you here on the boards and always have. I wasn't trying to do anything other than stand up for my brother, which family tends to do. Its kind of like a high-school election campaign with posters on the walls if you will. Innocent yet agressive at the same time. Yes - Quad and I are competitors, but we are both compassionate too. I know Quad wasn't out to hurt you, but I also know he is starving getting ready for Jr. Nat's right now and probably a little short with everyone.

Besides all that - He truly has been here on EF a long time and all the things I said about him are true when it comes to helping people here. I know you do to, I just felt he was deserved of this competition because of who he has been to people here and also out in the real world doing what he does each day. I meant no harm to anyone.
 
As I look at the list of people here, I see six people known for their outstanding contributions to the community here over a significant period. This isn't relevant, though, QSis, to the matter here.

I can understand your motivations and your wish to help out your brother but to make this into a popularity contest is a perversion of George's goodwill and of the intent of this, so far, trilogy of polls, including the ladies' one.

Still, I can see that you don't care to get into the issue of already having jointly won the first poll and what the point of this second poll is nor on whether this is even remotely fair to Dial-tone who came third in the poll and might well yet get nothing. With two weeks yet to go, your brother and I may yet walk away with nothing.

I think you should both have won an Ipod and I am unsure why that was not the case. It appears I gave you the impression that I didn't feel this was what should have happened. I only saw that it "DIDN'T" happen, therefore I was on to the next thing, which was another contest. Did I think it was right, no - but it was what happened. I saw it as that and acted upon it for my bro. I understand the point about solidarity and your comments, etc. concerning the 'right' or 'wrong' of what was happening here - but again, I was only acting upon the current event which was another poll.

I cannot change George's mind as obviously this is what he wanted to do. Sometimes it is an effort in futility to go against the system and sometimes not. It is not my fight so to speak, therefore I am only here in support of my bro. That's all, simply speaking. I would love to see all three of you win, very much so. We will see.
 
QSis, nobody is questioning your motives, they are of the highest calibre. With the greatest respect, though, I do think they are being mistakenly applied.

You have turned a vote on who has the best Profile into a vote for Quadsweep's Sister's kid brother by bartering on your own enormous popularity. This is such a twisting of George's poll and you are having such an influence that I can see George disqualifying Quadsweep or declaring this second run null and void on those grounds alone. I would have no points on which to argue with such a decision.

No one can 'see' what George will do, but if you [would be so inclinded/bold] to say there would be a disqualification based upon your beliefs alone about what I have done, then I will say I see what you are doing.

What I see is you being nice to me and then taking jabs at me in the same paragraph. I'm sorry if what I had done bothered you so much - but I do still like you and enjoy your posts. If people voted for Quad, they did so because they know him on the boards. I am not being naive - I believe this to be true.

Shut the poll down. Funny how the women managed to have the poll and there were no problems over the winners. And they saw WE are the drama queens :rolleyes: It is a shame that quad is withdrawing. He has helped a lot of people including me. If we are voting on character as well as profile, then that should account for something. quad does not look at gender then decide if he will offer advice, male or female, he will help regardless. THAT is a true winner to me.

You are really kind. I like the gender comment - it is very true. I remember Quad had a client for awhile when he owned his own gym and she had Multiple Sclerosis pretty severely. He really worked with her and was very inventive in helping her gain strength and mobility....

I could tell you many stories about the people he has worked with, but many of the people are right here, like you MSAM76. Somebody in a karma message said to me this wasn't a very good thread - but a tribute. I liked that. :)

I have reviewed each of the profiles listed and voted for the profile that I found the most interesting. I did this because I thought the contest was in regard to who has/had the best profile based upon the readers opinion. Not who is more popular and not who has helped more people.

IMO It's very hard to run any contest that is based on opinion, regardless of the prize(s) at stake. Opinions are as unique as the individuals who have them.

Regardless of the outcome, Good Luck to all of you.
