Miss 24 K --->I just read that you are resting 7 days a week... sorry about that and I hope you feel better ASAP!!!!! Im curious about those adrenal glands. I didnt want to jack nikkita's thread so I thought I'd post about this. What are the symptoms and things to look for? Did this happen right after your comp? I had some health issues post comp. as well and Im curious. Like jencats said- this year has been plagued with sickness and injuries!!!! :worried:

From what I have read... when you put your body under much stress you wear down your ability to cope with it. So it's mandatory to try and not put yourself under insurmountable stress. Basically you feel super sluggish, your hormones are all screwed up, most people have nervous breakdowns, etc... The hormones in the fight or flight response are used so often that your body can't react to situations the way it is supposed too. Some times the damage can't be reversed after it is done. That's about all I think I recall from what I have read before. One of my posts about hormones talked about adrenal gland issues....

Hey girl, well where to start, I was going to make a thread about this, but you got to it first Aries :)

Well the first signs actually happened about 6 weeks before the show, because of the problems with my digestive that I had, I had to work even harder than normal to get my bodyfat down (diet and training wise). I started becoming tired, I didn't want to do anything outside of what I had too (train twice a day), I started becoming irriated, and well it's hard to tell when you're in comp mode if it's overdoing it, or it it's the normal stress of comp mode.

1 sign to look for before you go overboard is heavy legs, if it feels like you're carry 2 cement blocks for legs just to go to the bathroom, you better take an extra rest day.

So anyway now for what happened after the show after the deplete, playing with the sodium, depleting the water and loading all those carbs, fats and SUGAR!

I was so sore, my muscles ached every last 1 of them, the pain was insane it felt like my hardest workout times 20, I couldn't move, it hurt to get up to go to the kitchen, and this lasted like 10 days, my muscles still hurt but not at bad as the first 10 days.

I am super tired all the time, it's actually a task and takes alot of energy to get dressed.

Sometimes I'll sleep 14 hours straight (at the beginning) only to wake exhausted and not rested at all, I feel and look like I've been up all night, heavy eyes. Or I have restless sleeps where I can't sleep more than an hour at a time, regardless of what I do to relax before bed, hot baths, lavendar oil, ZMA, sleepy time herbal teas, and this has been like this for the last week. And it's driving me crazy I just would like 1 good sleep, I feel like I forgot what good sleep is.

Any little thing that would never stress me before stresses me out like crazy, like not being able to take the vacuum out properly. And I can't control my stress at all, or calm down, like last night I was awake all night cause every little noise was scaring me, I was literally shaking and crying.

I don't know if anyone remembers me asking about low blood pressure not that long ago well that's another sign.

I have difficulty concentrating, my boyfriend the another day asked me to send an email for him, and he was telling what to write and I couldn't figure out how to spell important.

My hands and feet are always cold and I get "pins & needles" in them often.

My hormones are definiately out of wack, I lost my period like 3 months ago, and it still hasn't come back.

I would suggest to the ladies that train hard, I know some of your don't take very many week breaks, but every 3 months you should really have a week off.

So hopefully someone can learn something from the hell I'm living on a regular basis.

Oops I forgot 1 more thing, the insane cravings for fatty and sugary foods, it's so bad, I've fought myself many times and it's not like those regular cravings that we get, they're VERY intense, I have given into them a few times, but thankfully not too much, but I've gained 6 pounds from the show, I'm now 115lbs (remember I'm 5 ft tall ;) )

Oh another thing which isn't too good is that I have no tolerance at all for anyone, and I can't control my behaviour, like the another day I was so annoyed by my boyfriend's mom and just couldn't hide it, it was really bad and I had no reason at all to be like that with her, it was like her being around me was just annoying. I just don't want to be around anyone at all.

amenoreah is quite common among women atheletes with low body fat.

likely your cortisol is sky high from the over training.

things that help
taking days off
light exercise days
hydration
adrenal support (kelp, altyr, pottasium, magnesium)
dietary changes
DHEA- suppresses cortisol
glucorell and sesapure may help to mediate some of the binging as well as help control your blood sugar

Thank you marco :) , I actually haven't trained since my show May 6th, I just don't have the energy to be in there. I'm taking a bunch of herb formulas that are supposed to help, but well they aren't doing anything for me.

Sesapure is good to level blood sugars?

yes, its works via PPARalpha agonism. Glucorell works at it from the other "end" (receptor) by modulating PPARgamma.

have you been using thyroid meds or AAS? also a list of any other drugs or supplements would be helpful
(you can PM, if you prefer)
