So, the Mods asked me why Satch's info had not been posted.

On the Mod forum, the Mods asked me today to address why Satch's personal info had not been posted on the forums. This is the first I have learned that someone claims to know personal info about him. I also understand that members are angry because of drug deals gone bad.

EliteFitness.com as a company and I as an individual know nothing about this guy. We don't have his personal information on file. Furthermore, if we did have it, had he been a customer for example, we still would not post it - we do not share the personal information of our customers or members - it would be in violation of our Privacy Policy.

I appreciate the Mods and Members who brought this to my attention so that it could be addressed. I did not realize that this had become an issue.

obviously when dealing with the internet people are to be burned a time or two....people need to understand that..What satch did was wrong and it should be made public...People can never be too sure, but when so many people sit there and say he is good or what ever that is when people get pissed off....I am glad it is made public as it should on other boards so more people dont get burned.

George, you are a great person for all you do and it goes without saying that you have our best intrest at heart. I'm not plat right now but I will be soon and What you just said makes me feel like I can be safe here. Thanx for NOT being a money hungrey pig that doesn't give a shit about the little guy.

A BB scamming people??? That's unheard of!!!! Not!!!

Shit, half the BB's I know get $$$ up front from people to buy the gear that other people gave them $$$ for a month earlier. It's like they're using their customers to fund a whole line of credit to support their own habit. On top of it they mark it up 100% and you practically need to camp out on their doorstep to even find out order status.

Hopefully that clarifies the position and any business can not be open to that sort of risk just in case its wrong and totally support Elite in this decision as its the only one open to them.

The privacy policy is there to protect us all and should remain. If anyone wants the details then it is open knowledge that Indy claims to have them so why not just mail him and obtain. If he will not give you them then your beef is with him.

At the end of the day any information held by the Mod team here came from Indy so you will have all you need or is available. if Indy will not give it to you then your beef is with him.

Surely thats end of story and hopefully Satch will meet with someone who lost money and get what he deserves but that can not be at the expense of Elite who effectively have nothing to do with the whole drama.

You're a good guy Wrongun (you helped me out with something last year) but i disagree with you mate, Im sure i read that Indy had met Satch and has pictures of him, thus there can be NO mistaken identity problem, Scammers have always had their info posted here, Why is he the exception?, As far as the legal implications go, Any picture/name posted would just serve as a warning to others to steer clear of him, I see no harm in this at all.
 
GS's post doesn't make comment on whether Satch's personal info may be posted. What GS is saying is that Elite's privacy policy ensures that any info held on the Elite servers is available to no-one. That privacy policy is part of what helps Elite to function in that members in oppressed countries where gear is illegal to possess and use, unlike the UK, can be here without fear of repression.

Sometimes such policies go against what many would like but for them to be compromised on request would undermine this whole site.

mate it was the same with Chase when he turned scammer. All the feedback it was 100% him etc etc and guess what it was wrong. It resulted in making some poor guys life hell and possible leagal cases against Elite.

Now my question to you is what if it is posted what will it achieve? Absolutely nothing it will drop and thats it (same with every other scammer named and shamed). It would however produce risk to Elite for no gain IMHO.

Now we agree Indy has this info. He claims its accurate so why does he not just issue to anyone that asks and then something can be done about it. So many have taken the time to post on here but use that time to mail Indy and you have what you are after.

Also how confident are you that Indy is telling the truth? I have read so many threads accusing him of being implicated. Is he? I really do not know but lets say he is then he could issue wrong info. that is then posted on here and bang Elite is taken down of another legal case and actually assists Satch does it not?

So why don't people get the info and deal with it instead of moaning on here? Not agains you mate but in my 6 years on these boards i have seen so many scammers and not one who has info posted has actually been made to pay so it really serves no purpose. If you were going to do something about it then get the info from indy, verify it and act that simple. Posting it on here serves no purpose (except if its wrong and you only have Indys word it assists Satch as Elite will be closed).

As for Elite ''pushing him as a source'' then he posted here. I do not agree with sources open posting and making it obvious but come on we all have to make our own minds up. Mods have a thankless task. they hear a lot of info and try and help as they know the rep of a source. they are heroes 99% of the time and then bang one turns and its their fault. No win situation but the old phrase of buyer beware always is always evident i am afraid. Please remember the commodity we are discussing its not a simple e-book sale.

Heres the answer. Why does Indy not put the info on a free web space and post the link here. That way nothing to do with GS or Elite and you get what you want?

Mods please delete this if it does compromise the site as i am not up on internet law.

Not sure mate but probably.

I would say Indy should just sned the information via e-mail to all that ask and then they would have to do what they please with and not implicate or put the board at risk.

All in all nothing will happen it never does (except the usual keyboard threats that die down after about a week). Thats why scammers operate as less comebacks from the members that there are the police 9i.e. safer not to have gear) IMHO

If people bought something off a forum its there owe stupidity! Its against the rules to be selling anything off this site period! The rules were being broken then that falls on the mods for not doing there job and they should take the heat for it not the site...Everyone knew what he and others were doing and kept allowing it to happen anyways. So who should you people blame? 85% of scammers work off forums you take your chance if you get burned its on you! Looks to me like an outright lie. They have his ip address. Anyone could use it to track him down.

It does stink i posted him as as scammer & you guys 2 beware months b4 it all blew up as he took me for 1500 dollars & what happened? My posts lasted 3 hours b4 they were deleted! So much for an information forum!

You are not very intelligent by posting that you sent $1500 to buy steroids to someone who may or may not be in custody on charges of delivering a controlled substance.

On another note, just having someone's IP does not mean that GS can track them down. I can use wireless internet thru anyone of a number of unencrypted wireless access points in my neighborhood (Non-tech Savy neighbors), or I could go to a library. ANd another thing to think about is that Satch likely traveled alot, and could have used wireless access in hotels. None of which you would be able to track down. Not to mention the many other ways to mask an IP address. Someone playing at his level undoubtly masked his whereabouts and such.

This is a dead subject - It sucks for those who got burned - It sucks for those who had faith in him and were sucked into the vacuum that he created, and it sucks for EF to have this happen on their board. But the fact of the matter is this:

And no, we will not be giving them out to you or anyone else unless Rick Collins tells us to do so - just like we will not give out your IP address even though you have not been my favorite member today.

George if there is a strong commitment to personal privacy like you said then why were people allowed to buy a chairman of the board membership and have my IP. This doesn't seem like a strong commitent to personal privacy to me. Ok you said you changed the rules with the IP's now. But just the other day somebody could have my info if they were willing to pay.

No - I had a couple of points to prove and I'm done with that.

I had NO PROBLEM with what happened today (seeing as it was properly resolved by the man in charge)

If you want to pick a fight or make "your" point, just start a new thread, so it can be "your own"..............bringing up old posts just makes you look like you aren't thinking on your own.

I used Satch, all was good, and it's over - his 'Run' is over. Every source has a run and it always ends this way... I don't think we're naive' - it just sucks when you have someone like him that you get used to, can relate to at a site like this. Everyone is happy with what he provides, we're all happy - then POOF! shit goes south. If you haven't been scammed at the end of a source's run, good for you.

I've been scammed twice, my exwife tried to take my son and run, and I lose every time at Texas Hold'em. Life goes on.

You seem to be really unhappy with the situation here and the way the site is run. Some of our members concerns have been addressed and people have moved on. Seems like no resolution is good enough for you. You still seem unhappy with the way the site is run…

If you don’t like the way the site is run… Why stay?

All you do is criticize us, but you never decide to boycott us. Show us your discontent as an unsatisfied customer, and leave our place of business never to return.


If all you do is make posts criticizing the site, but you never say “screw you guys I’m leaving” … It just makes you look like a troll. Someone who stick around to cause a little drama for a cheap thrill…

Is it really that fun to feel like you are getting under our skin?

Is it really worth the time and effort you put into posting of this BS?

Please don’t waste your time and energy telling us how much you hate the site… Just go and join a different online community where you feel safer and more appreciated… That’s what I would do if I didn’t feel comfortable at a certain place…. I would just leave.

No point in staying here and being unhappy right?
