Got var to hold at 20mg/ml using glycerin and 190 proof

Just in case any of you don't feel like ordering PEG off the internet (or if you are worried about PEGs effecting absorption rate), I got 50ml worth of var to hold at 20mg/ml using 10ml glycerin and 39ml 190 proof alcohol. At first I was worried that it wasn't holding because it kept crashing. It turns out I just didn't heat it up enough. Once I got the crystals to dissolve it has held ever since.

Crystal clear and beautiful!

Next time I'll try a higher concentration and let you know how it goes!

By the way, the first time I tried was suspending it at 20mg/ml in oil and 4% BA. Bad idea. Not only is it messy and tastes bad, but I don't think it is holding (of course I probably need to try heating it again at a higher temperature to be sure, but regardless, don't use oil unless you're desparate).

Oil does taste like crap. I wasted powder doing that. I cap now but you seem to have nailed it on the head!

If you manage to get a higher dose without it crashing post the results. Excellent post bro!

Question: how hot did you heat the oil and for how long?

It's hard to say how hot I heated the oil or the alcohol. Because of my living conditions I can't cook in the kitchen, so I bring a pot of water to boil, take it into the bedroom, and set my glass beaker in it, swirling the mixture occasionally. It's kinda funny I guess I'd say I had to reheat the pot three times to ensure the water was hot enough. But basically from what I've observed, the alcohol solution dissolved at less than boiling temperature, and in probably 15 minutes with steady heat.

I don't think I let the oil mixture reach as high a temperature as the alcohol though.
