Hey guys,

Ive been wondering lately if all this AAS use is taking a toll on parts and functions of my body that I dont know about or can't monitor.. I get yearly exams and I get bloodwork done about 2-3 times per year.. From a doctors and medical point of view, I am healthy. I take supplements and live a healthy lifestyle (besides AAS use ).
Right now in my life I have no interest in having kids.. I am still in my 20's... But im sure I will change in the next 5-7 years. What am I doing to myself by taking AAS for extended periods of time.. I do use PCT and I seem to recover.. But am I hurting the changes of having children, moreso, I dont want to hurt the child in any way.. I would die if my child had a birth defect because of me being selfish...
What do you guys think?

maybe strong oral's? i really dont have anything usefull for you as i dont have any seed's. but damn good thread

You have to stop reading those government issued steroid posters. Steroids YOU use have no affect whatsoever on your childs health. Without knowing your ability to make babies it's impossible to say what affect on your fertility it might have. The average man has no problem making babies during or after steroid use as long as the right meds are used. And many don't even need the meds to make a baby. Like me.

Exactly. I was on for over 8 months and got my lady pregnant. Now we have a healthy baby boy. The fertility thing is a myth only few steriods will suppress sperm count to an extent.

what about anadrol and tren? those are fucking harsh physically for you.

Thank you guys... Im not one to fall for the myths of bodybuilding and AAS use... My only concern was that I was doing harm to something that wasnt monitored very easily like the rest of my tests.. I appreciate your replys.. I do feel that whatever you are predisposed to, thats how its going to be.. But thank you..

what meds are these exactly?

My wife and I got married when I was 27 and she was 24. We started trying to have kids when I was 30. At that point I was one of the cleanest living mfer's you'll ever meet. Ate right, exercised, got a decent amount of sleep, kept my stress level in check. My body fat was very low but healthy, my BP was 120/60 and my cholesterol was 120. I drank a couple of beers now and then and, once in a great while (wedding or what-have-you) I'd get friggin loaded. However, I never took ANY drugs, not even aspirin. . .didn't need it. . .I had experimented with dbol in college but that had been years ago and the doses were certainly pretty tame. Basically, I was strong, healthy and fit.

Anyway, we tried to have kids for a year and nothing happened. I got tested and found out that my count and motility were a little low but, still within the "fertile" range but, low-normal. My wife got tested and they found nothing wrong with her. So, we entered into a fertility program at the local university hospital (thank God for them) and after a couple of years and a number of proceduures, each more technical than the one before, my wife conceived and delivered healthy twin girls.

From that point forward, my wife and I went along, banging away like a screen door in a hurricane without giving any thought to any protection. At about 37 years of age, I began experimenting with AAS. Mostly for shits and giggles but, also to give me a little bit of the "edge" that I had begun to lose with age. Anyway, a few cycles later, at the age of 40, with no help from the medical profession, I impregnated my wife (personally I prefer the term "five-holed the goalie" :) :) ) and we had an extremely healthy baby boy. Out of curiosity, I got tested and my count and motility were in the high-normal range, basically off the charts for a 40 year old dude. Why?? Who the frig knows? Did AAS use make me more fertile? Very doubtful. My opinion, I believe that my former uber-healthy lifestyle which included extended periods of very fat restriction had a negative effect on my count and motility. However, I have no clinical evidence to back it up. One thing is for sure. Using mild to moderate doses of AAS a couple of times a year for several years certainly didn't seem to have any negative effects.

One guy's story.

I would think, you would not have anything to worry about. as far as reproducing, your genectic makeup will have the most bearing on traits positive and negative that would be passed onto any offspring. In short normal usage will not change your genectic makeup.

Is this an opinion or is the medical proof? Just wondering, I'm trying not to be naive. It doesn't make sense that it wouldn't. I know a fella who has been on for 12 years pretty consistant, whos trying to have a child. His doctor put him on hrt. However I definately have a lack of knowledge in this department. I'm also trying to have another and am very interested in medical research on this subject.

I fathered 2 little girls while on some fairly good sized cycles. I was on fina, deca, test, and dbol and my wife got pregnant both times within 1 month of going off the pill!! I think most of those reports of aas leading to infertility in men are BS.

steroids physically cannot affect the health of a fetus, or its development, it could only do that if it affected your genetic makeup, which is not possible. This was from two different docs when we were trying, and one is very anti-steroid, so if she could have bashed them in that way, then she would have.
As far as conceiving, as long as you do take time off, run proper pct, and perferrably run hcg while on, you shouldnt have a problem conceiving

If there has been no medical research are these just assumptions or I heard from a buddy type stuff. Just don't know what to believe. Maybe some guru will see this and do a study so we all can know for sure. Thanks for the input.

It's not an assumption that using steroids can lower your sperm count because it stops your LH and FSH. It's not an assumption that FSH controls your sperm count. It's not an assumption that HMG raises your FSH levels. That's exactly what fertility clinics use it for. So no, it's not assumption that using HCG/HMG will allow someone with a low sperm count whether it's due to AS use or otherwise to conceive.

HCG is the key then? I'm glad I have that in my cycle. Do fertility doctors prescribe hcg to men with low sperm count or hmg? What is the difference? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to sort all this stuff out.

I am 38 my wife is 24..She is 10 weeks pregnant now...Conception was about 3 weeks into a 550mg andropen/25mg D-Bol/400mg EQ cycle....? Go figure...we were not trying for a baby at the time.

My wife is about 6 weeks in (have not yet seen a baby doc yet) But we had been trying for 7 months to get pregnant.

She thought it was her, but I think it was me. The last 1.5 years I got lazy (married etc) and became fat and lethargic. I started getting some gyno in my right pec and itchy on both nips. I feel that my test lvls had dropped and my estrogen was higher (cant prove since I did not get tested)

However after a month and a half of being back in the gym and busting my ass to get back down, I got her pregnant.

What this means is that even with low test lvls a change in my lifestyle either 1) made my levels increase slightly or 2) made my swimmers stronger!!

PS and now I know she is pregnant I will be ready for my next cycle :)

I don't mind the questions bro but I have already answered them and you're asking again. Short, uncomplicated answer = For fertility, HCG/HMG. Both

I took AAS for three years before quiting had three very healthy kids starting six years later. You should know that the side effects of steroids are temporary. They go away after you discontinue use.
