I am planning to buy a cat. Is there any specific one that is good for a house pet. This is my first time buying a cat so any help would be appreciated.
One more question ( This might be a dumb question but anyways)does anyone knows what kind of cat is this ( left). I want to get a furry one. lol

I believe the left one is the same cat they have shown on the movie " Meet the Focker" Or is it different?

In my opinion, the best pet cats are mutts, aka "domestic short hair". Sometimes pet stores sell them as "yard cats". Long haired cats shed all the time and require too much maintenance. And they have issues with dingleberries after they use the cat box. The Persians like the one in your picture with the shortened snout tend to have sinus problems.

Get a free kitten from the want ads in your local paper.

I am planning to get one at the shelter, Is better that way.

I have 2 registered cats. The rest of them are either throw-aways or rescued. The orphaned cats seem to be much better. It's almost as if they're more appreciative b/c of where they came from. My 2 pure breds are bitches. I love'em but they're not nearly as loving as the others. As far as your pic goes, the one on the left is Himalayan Persian. Rescue one from your local animal shelter or get one from someone giving them away. It'll do your heart good.

Same with my cats ... 2 came from a shelter and would never scratch someone and 1 came from a breeder and that one will scratch you without thinking twice if you pet her the wrong way...

I know all of my cats will come from shelters from now on :)

Yeah, the city shelter or Humane Society is fine.
