2 weeks on var and this is what it did to my lipid profile

As a reference my precycle lipid profile looked like this.
TC 211
HDl 82
ldl 108
vldl 21

Just had a non fasting cholesterol test done, results:

TC 157
HDL 26!!! I knew var knocks the crap out of HDL but thats a lot for only 2 weeks at 30mg PD.
My TC is way down (obviously) but the ratio concerns me. I am alomost considering dropping the var, or at least only running it for 6 weeks instead of 8.

Current lipid control supps: policosonol, 1500mg of flush free niacin, 20mg nolva PD. Diet is clean & includes lots of whole grains and natural peanut butter, fruits & veggies.

Besides the var taking 300mg of primo PW and test cyp 200mg E 21 days.

BP came in a bit high 140/78. admitedly I was nervous about what the lipid results woudl be. shoudl more focus be placed on the the upper or lower numberin terms of health?

Also, how accurate are those table top cholesterol checkers especially nonfasting??

I'm not a doctor but those levels need to be taken real seriously

winny fucked my lipids up bad too. I was taking 75mg p/d though. My doc prescribed vytorin for me. Also try taking omega 3's and other efa while on any aas that hits ur lipids hard.

i`d drop the var. it obviously dont agree with you.
the bp isnt too bad. 78 is good, 140 is slightly high but may be nerves. add some cv and add omega 3`s as suggested.

I ake 3.6g flax and 3.6g Omega-3 fatty acids every day (on cycle and off). HDL will get hit with any oral cycle but that will help.

Also integrate good foods for HDL, brocolli, leafy greens, fish etc.

My HDL was very low last summer and I was completely clean (no AAS whatsoever) I got my levels checked out after my last winny cycle and I was at HDL 45 - diet and supps worked for me - I was expecting my levels to be much worse and all of them were normal.

Take Tyler's for the liver - I also integrate NAC and Milk Thistle in addition to tylers

I'm diong cardio and omega 3's ala at about 9 grams PD. the drop in HDL is a common side of var I guess its just a question if one wants to except it and I'm not sure that I am, might be time to flush the var :-(

bilter, i think maybe you should have a fasting lipid test and see if the results are the same. if they are then just swap over to another compound as otherwise after 8 weeks of var your hdl levels will be virtually 0

It has hit your HDL hard.

Strange how I read many posts where people say their lipids have come back good after running Var / Dbol / Winny etc. Is it that some people recover very quicly post cycle or that genetically some bro's can tolerate orals where as others can't?

Be good to hear what the likes of Ulter, Macro, Mr X etc. have to say on this. Bearing in mind that you're running all those lipid control supps I am shocked at your recent test results.

I am thinking that many people get checked post cycle and not during as I did. Given the speed in which it has decreased my HDL I would hope it will retrun to normal jsut as quickly. BUt yes I would like to see what macro, ulter and Mr x have to say on this.

Dullboy, I am actually thanking mum & dad...........look at my precycle lipids :)

dude hdl of 26 isnt really horrible - I get into the single digits hdl on var. are you in the US ? the reference ranges mite be different.

best thing you can do while recovering ur hdl (dont worry it comes back up ) is take label dose of kyolic garlic tabs (cardiac formula) - good science that it acts as a substitute super-hdl preventing oxidation of fats and plaque buildup in ur arteries, and carrying away ldl.

to recover (but it wont help u keep it while on)
policosanol
niacin (inositol hexanicotinate - nonflush niacin)
metamucil
olive oil / walnuts
running a few times a week.

1 month should do it

Yes I am in the US. HDL levels are desired to be over 40. I'll look into the kyolic garlic. thanks for the info. I was also advised to take 1 asperin PD to help avoid legions on the arterial walls that can be caused by poor lipdis (thrombosus???) I suspect it has gone as low as it is going (I hope) and no it is not as bad as some but considering the % drop from baseline it is HUGE :worried:

Its used as an indicator for your cardiovascular health and / or risk of developing cardio vascular disiese. Ideally one wants high HDL (good cholesterol) and low LDL (bad cholesterol). A ratio of 4 to one or lower is considered good. If you compare my baseline to recent my cycle has quickly oved me into what they would consider moderate risk as my ratio for total cholesterol to HDL is above 5. It now comes in at 6 where it used to be 2.5...................not a good change

blame your mum and your dad.

for his amazingly good ratios and hdl levels?

Blame the var for his shitty current levels.

Did you take policosanol and such from the beginning or did you you just start them after you found your results?

I started all my supps weeks before starting my cycle, but after I had my baseline blood test done. I do think it is the var. I have read many studies on lipids and aas and test lowers TC but maintains the inital ratio (no significant change), primo I could not find a lot on specifically but what little I have found appears to be the same as test, var and winny appear to be the worst for drastically reducing HDL (at a minimum). I once did a cycle of prop, tren, eq & winny mu TC shot up to 274 did not get the ratio but I am sure it was not good. I was not on any supps to help control cholesterol though so on the bright side I do think that the 64 pills I take daily are helping some
