10/24 NFL: New York Jets at Atlanta (MNF)

Atlanta looks to follow up last game's win over New Orleans with another at home on Monday Night Football versus the New York Jets.

New York takes its 2-4 mark to Atlanta to tackle the 4-2 Falcons.

The Falcons opened as 7-point favorites in this contest. Oddsmakers pegged the opening total at 40.5.

Last time out, the Jets lost to Buffalo 27-17 as 3-point underdogs. That contest went over the closing total.

Jim Mora Jr.'s troops were at New Orleans last game and came away with a 34-31 win, a game that went over 43.5. Oddsmakers had them as 5.5-point favorites in that one.

Don't expect Atlanta to beat itself with turnovers this week. They have allowed just 1.0 turnovers per game so far this season, among the very best teams in the league in that category.

Some trends to consider:
New York are 2-5-0 ATS in its last 7 away games
New York are 2-4-0 ATS in its last 6 games
New York are 3-6-0 OU in its last 9 away
New York are 2-4-0 OU in its last 6 games
Atlanta is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 home games
Atlanta is 2-4-0 SU in its last 6 games after scoring 31 to 40 points
Atlanta is 3-8-0 OU in its last 11 at home
Atlanta is 1-4-0 ATS in its last 5 games after being 3.5 to 7 point favorites

Next up:
NY Jets home to San Diego, Sunday, November 6
Atlanta at Miami, Sunday, November 6
 
I'm nervous that NY could pull this out.

keep in mind, they have a solid defense.

Curtis Martin was the league leading rusher for the season, and he's coming off a huge game.

They've got great receiving corps too, only weakness is at QB but Vinny is quite the story lately.

Falcons on the other hand, they have Vick, who is far too over hyped. Most hyped player in the game but the fact is, he isn't a great passer. He adds a different element to the game that messes with defenses a bit, but its rarely effective. He's injury prone as well this season.

RB they have Warrick Dunn... far too undersized.. i know they have some backup options, but their running game is not dominating.

Warrick Dunn. He's 5'9" 180. Small? Sure. You just made it seem like he's too small of a player to have an impact. Take a look at his career stats. They don't lie. He's averaging 5.2 yards per carry this season. Oh, and by the way Atlanta ranks #1 in rushing offense throughout the NFL.

Yet Vick throws for an average of 120 with a 5/3 TD to INT ratio and they win 4 out of 5... (He only averages 50 yds rushing so you can't tell me that makes up for it)

I would never bet on ATL out of principle alone. How can you win with such a shitty throwing QB? I hope the jets beat em.

Don't feel too bad, he wins K on a daily basis.

Over the long run, he will come out FAR FAR ahead.

I've got the guy's back if he ever needs it that's for sure.

There is gonna be such heavy action in here though with the ipod contests, he'll be at 5,000,000 karma before you realize.
 
That was probably one of the shittiest games I have ever watched.
