can is some before/after pics. For my frame style? 1st pic ever here!

I am just being here. And have made the choice to go for it. No matter what it takes.
But I was wondering what can i look forward to. When to the gym today and was talking to couple of guys that were really into the bodybuilding. I asked them for a spot. on flat bench.
Anyway they started in on tell me i should just give up I would never gain huge arms etc. Not even with all the juice in the world. Which pushs me even harder to make it work.
Im 33 yrs old
6' tall
140lbs maybe 150lb max.
31-32 waist 34" legs.
I lost about 35lbs due to the stress of a divorce but that is now past me
Can anyone out there give me some boost on what is out there if I push myself and diet and anything else out there.
To me when I see myself I see a thin lanky 6' tall person
Anyone give me a boost
Before / after pics and what it took to make it
I Have added my first picture ever. so dont be harsh. I know its bad.
thanks
Jeff

Bro anyone can get big. You just need to eat huge and train hard.

There's a pretty simple equation which comes down to this: If your muscles are in recovery (from training) and you put enough fuel in your body so that they recover they will recover bigger and stronger. That is until you reach a point at which your body uses the muscle as quickly as you are recovering (natural limit).

Those guys at the gym are full of shit, and they are the kind of person who bring a bad name to the sport IMHO.

I'm too busy to go into any detail on how it can be achieved, but it CAN. Everyone has started from the bottom, nobody was born with a jacked physique. So everyone has photo's like yours (in a metaphorical sense).

It's hard work but definately achievable if you set your mind to it.

Peace

Hey bro, I started out similar to you. That pic of me in my avatar is me at 6'4, 155 pounds!! I used to lift pretty hardcore years ago and was bigger, but in time I lost it all. When I decided to start lifting again, I wasn't making any gains in weight and minimal gains in strength. Yeah yeah, I know, eat lots and lift hard, right? But I'm a "hardgainer" (or so I thought) I started to research steroids because I thought it was my only way out. Through my research, I found this site. I read every damn thread I could and learned a ton of stuff. One of the things I learned was that I wasn't ready to juice. I was pissed, how could that be true? I need to get big now!! I stumbled upon a source and acquired some sust. I was going to do it no matter what everyone on here was saying. Then I read a thread to which contained a link to fitday.com. I got tired of logging in so I just bought the damn software. I was tracking what I ate every day. OOOPPS! I guess I wasn't eating as much as I thought I was. I reorganized my diet and planned and portioned everything to meet my daily caloric and nutrient intake. After a month, I started to gain weight. I've been averaging almost 6-8 pounds a month weight gain. It's almost all lean. I've gained so fast, my wife asks me if I'm doing steriods. I explain to her that I'd never do them because they're illegal

Organize your diet. Use fitday and quantify your daily intake. 3000-3500 calories/day (every day, no slacking) has blown me up. I didn't worry about what I ate, I just wanted to make sure I met my caloric goal. As time went on, I cleaned up my diet. Not that it was that bad.

My training is on track since I do have a lot of experience from the past. If I only worked on my diet back then.

I wish I had a before picture. I basically looked like you with my face :)

Don't worry about what other people in the gym say. Back in '95 I worked out at the Gold's Gym in Seaside CA. (Reggie Jackson owned it) There were some big bros there. Real big! I had been lifting hard all of '94 with my football player buddy. I was strong and lean when I moved to CA, but I started losing weight. Now I know I wasn't eating enough. Anyway, some of the big dudes at the gym would look at me like I was a waste of space and even make comments for me to hear. Dicks. Others were nice and many sought me out to spot them on bench because they really liked my spotting technique. My point is, don't let anyone intimidate you. Do your workout and you'll find good people to help you in the gym. Maybe go at a different time and you'll run into a nicer group.

PM me if you want to talk about my diet/exercise routine. It's worked wonders for me so far. I know it'll work for you. I'll try to borrow a friends digital camera next week and get a current pic for you.

BTW, I haven't juiced yet (I'm glad I didn't it would have been a waste)

Sorry so long. :artist:

I think you guys are on to something My diet is really bad right now. Pretty much consist of choc. Zingers and about 4 pepsi 20oz a day. Then fast food for lunch. No breakfast no supper.
I thought the fit programming was for dieting. Can it work also in gaining?
Thanks guys Any legal supplements would you recommend?
Where can I find some basic daily food intake type programs.
Thanks
Jeff

I'd definately fix that diet even before I started thinking about supplementation. Take pendit's advice and look around the forum for food ideas, and go under the basic concept of calorie overload. At least 3000-3500 calories per day, and stay away from the chocolate! :Chef:

Anyone can gain muscle. Not everyone is going to be able to look like Mr. O, but you can be muscular for sure. Problem is it takes TIME and DEDICATION!! Its not something you do like playing golf, it becomes a like a job. It shouldn't be a job you don't like, but you need to look at it like something you HAVE to do. You need to get it in your mind that you are in it for the long haul and thats it. Most people will quit a workout program in less then 2 months. If I had a nickel for everytime one of my friends started and stopped working out I would be a rich man.

Read this board and other sites about lifting and learn all you can. Keep an open mind and don't think you know everything. Don't follow any routine in a magazine you see in the store, its either for people doing massive amounts of roids(flex) or meant to just get you in shape(men's fitness).

You will probably make some fast gains, but don't set any goals, weight gain is too hard to control. Just set your goal to gain a little something each week or month. Even 1lb a month of muscle means 12lbs. in a year. Two years later you have gained almost 25lbs. of muscle, which is night and day from where you are now.

Take in high calories/protein, but STOP drinking soda. Soda is all sugar and will actually hurt you gaining muscle. It fills you up with empty carbs and promotes fat storage/less energy. You don't have to eat like a hippie, but try to eat as clean as you can. Eat a protein bar for breakfest, easy and probably better then what you eat now. Lunch have turkey sandwich or chicken etc.. Drink a protein shake when you get home. For dinner have a steak or whole wheat pasta with chicken or tune mixed in etc.. Before bed have another protein shake(or even just a scoop or two of whey protein) with milk or water. If you are a real hard gainer, get some weight gain powder and drinkit ONLY after you work out. Don't take a full 2000+ calorie amount, maybe 2 scoops instead of 3 or whatever they say a serving is.

Just be consistant and if you have any questions, post here and let people help you out. Get a workout routine and post here to see peoples opinion on it. Post your diet and let people make suggestions. Youcan and will get a lot bigger if you stick to it.

I think you should be taking in more calories than that. Basically eat as much as you can. Try ofr like 40% protein/30% (good fats)/30% carbs. Possibly bump up the protein a notch. Anyone can get big bro, those dudes are some jokes. But for skinny dudes like urself, u just got eat big and train hard. good luck

I'd probably aim for more carbs than that, but that's IMO. Carbs are a bulking friend :artist:

welcome to EF jeff. you will learn a lot here.

what those fucks at the gym have a crystal ball and they can see into the future that you cannot gain wt and muscle? what a jerky thing to say.

you definitely could use some size, some muscle mass. would make an amazing difference in your overall appearance. a lot of us thought we were hard gainers till we learned proper diet, workout, and yes juicing techniques.

you can put on a lot of wt naturally for few years BEFORE you resort to juice. eat, eat, eat. read up on EF. train, sleep.

sorry about your divorce. stress and depression can be murder..losing wt can be a serious side. you will bounce back. adulthood can be cruel, but gets easier as you get older jeff.

we will consider this your BEFORE pic. you look naturally lean. this can be a real advantage in BB. once you put on some mass you will be able to say F you to those assholes at your gym. (gyms seem to be full of them)

Fitday is for weight loss. BUT, there is a daily food log where you enter in what you ate for that day and it adds up the calories, fat, carbs, etc. There's also a weight log. I usually weigh myself once a week just to see if there's any change. I log whatever I weigh on the first of every month.
