My buddy and myself swapped bikes to go down the road to see how each others handles.

We go 2 minutes down the road he goes to turn around in the parking lot and i see him and my baby flopping on the ground like a fish out of water.

He ruined....

Lower cowling.
Mid Cowling.
Frame Sliders.
Signal.
Mirrors.
My day.

He also blew a hole in the oil sump. Hot ass oil spewing everywhere.

Grand Total Damage: $1500+

I am ready to cry.

Im taking pics and will post them soon.

Help.

:( It's always a shame to see a sportbike go down. I hate to tell you this, but you're probably looking at closer to $2000 for the parts/labor.

I'm sending some green your way.

Well he is a good friend, so getting pissed would be pointless to me. Shit happens. It could have easily been me.

It would have been just plastic, but he tipped it onto a curb and the bolt that mounts to the oil sump snapped and blew a hole into the aluminum sump itself.

I know how that is. :( My first bike was dropped by a friend of mine. *hugz* Nothin a little bit of lovin' can't fix though. Hopefully he's a good enough friend that he'll chip for the repairs.

an 02 Gixxer 600... I should have kicked it over lol.

How long has he been riding? How did he lay it down?(Too much throttle while turning?)

At least he is paying for everything.

Not only should he pay for it... but... he should lend you his bike the whole time yours is getting fixed!

He has been riding for three years.

He said he sneezed, but I think he saw a little sand and freaked, went to go wide and wide was the curb.

Bang.

Put a cage, 12 bar, and a pizza pan rear sprocket on it and turn into a stuntbike.

And get a 600rr for canyon/street riding.

Im looking for a salvage, cheap f4i to turn into a stuntbike since I dont want to wreck my minty SV.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH....damn bro....sorry...i rode my buddys GSX-R 1000 last week...i had to make a U-turn on PCH. he had a sterring stablizer that was real stiff..i almost fell over myself!!!!!!!...im like dude, thats alittle to satblized dont cha think!!..i could barley turn at low speeds...we had a great ride today...i was in the "ZONE"...got to race up with another CBR1000RR today...good comparison, he was running a full titanium ARATA exhuast...my bike was just as fast...i finally took him into a long staright going into a big sweeper...i stayed in it when he broke and apexed real late...i over shot the double yellows but made the pass stick...slid the rear and chattered a bit, but it was fun...whew!!!!

How are you liking that SV? The first time I sat on one I fell in love. Now I'm torn between the F4i and the SV.

Two totally different bikes. If you're a newer rider I'd definitely suggest the SV over an F4i. Whereas...if it were myself, most definitely the F4i if I had to choose.

I've been riding for a few years now and I've ridden most of the 600s. Up until I took the SV out for a spin I was a Honda loyalist. Now I'm just torn.

that R1 that he damaged is expensive thing. You can buy a used audi for that money. I would make him pay the damage, period

damn that sucks

Honestly, I think it is the V-Twin that got me. :p :p

lol, damn, Im sick of hearing this "If you ride an SV you are a total fucking NOOB".

Just wait till they see me tear their ass apart in the canyons while pointing to the SV on the side at the same time.

Dirty, I love the SV. Has a GREAT powerband in the canyons, unlike an inline 4, you never have to wait for the power to kick in, its ALWAYS there, even at 3000 RPM. Just ask my I-4 friends behind me who describe me as "sling shotting" around sharp turns thanks to the generous torque.

If my SV did not have an oil starvation problem while on wheel, and had the ability to do HIGHWAY wheelies, I'd keep it for a long time.

As for the SV vs f4i, its all about preference as they are two totally different things....

Sorry to hear that dude. That sux. I bet your friend feels as shitty as you do. That is really why I don't like people to ride my bike or vice a versa. It would be horrible to deal with that situation.

That blows man. I let a buddy of mine borrow my F4i once for a short ride. I wasn't worried that much because he used to race 250's and shit when he was younger. Anyways, he pulls back into the parking lot and goes to do a u-turn to bring the bike right up to me. He hit the front brakes a little too hard while still in turn and the bike dropped to the ground. Instead of bailing though, he stayed on and kept his leg under the bike. The result was some minor burns and bruises on his leg and a sprained wrist, but he kept the bike from ever actually touching the ground. I was impressed. No damage to my lady. I asked him why he didn't just bail as the bike can always be fixed. His reply was "Fuck that, if it were my bike and you dumped it I would kill you, so I figured the same for you." He is a good shit.
