You are stupid if you think a mediocre NFL cornerback deserved it over possibly the best qb of all time. He was the best then, he is the best now. Woodson scored a couple of tds and people shit themselves.

Yeah, he was medicore in the NFL. But he was judged on that year of college ball, not his NFL career.

Apparently Peyton wasn't. Peyton was a senior, and had a better season at qb then any qb has that won the heisman since that year.

True, but I also think that there was an outcry about QBs always winning the award. That probably influenced it somewhat.

2 of the 3 heisman award winners before Woodson were non qbs (Wuerffel, George, and Salaam). It was just a bullshit award that year. It was probably the most clearcut heisman winner in the past decade aside from maybe Ricky Williams, yet they gave it to Woodson.
