Chesty, Help4John, Stickfigure, 75th, Metzen, AristotleBC, Longhorn85. defend THIS.!

Re: Chesty, Help4John, Stickfigure, 75th, Metzen, AristotleBC, Longhorn85. defend THI

Bush does have the Halliburton ineterests guarded heavily by our military in Iraq. Seriously.

I would have to research a bit more before I comment but from what I have read this is a weak attack. "The weapons were there in January, but gone in October"........ Lets see we attacked in April? And weren't discovered gone until October, damn that’s what 9 months? Go back and read the rest of the article.

"the storage site was the responsibility of the interim Iraqi government, not the United States, as of the June 28 transfer of power." Not our responsibility. Not related to Bush.

"Fleming said the IAEA, whose mission is to keep track of everything with potential nuclear weapons applications, had been monitoring about 100 sites in Iraq, but there were only a few of special concern, including Al Qaqaa". Again not our responsibility

"Ereli said coalition forces have cleared 10,033 weapons caches and destroyed 243,000 tons of munitions. Another 162,898 tons of munitions are at secure locations and awaiting destruction, he said". Some 328 tons were gone? Hmmm damn that’s bad......

"Ereli said coalition forces searched 32 bunkers and 87 other buildings at the Al Qaqaa facility after the war for weapons of mass destruction. The troops found none, but did see indications of looting"

Although only half were searched, they found nothing but signs of looting. Unfortunately they don’t have a date on that search but they make it sound like it was around the early part of May. So either way you look at it, the stuff was moved or looted before we got there.

"stuff you can buy anywhere."

We are not talking about nukes here. So far I can reasonably conclude from the article the weapons disappearing have nothing to do with incompetence in the Bush administration. They had almost 4 months before the war even started to move them so who says they are still there? If we knew they were there after the war and are now gone then it would be a serious charge. Otherwise you’re barking up a tree.

Read the article and pay attention to the facts. I have to read from more sources before I come out and state anything. But from just that article you could reasonably conclude it wasn't Bush's problem.

Hmm, Im not a pro-Bush person, but before you start gloating, you should know that NBC recently reported that these explosives were already missing when the troops first arrived back in '03.

All the pro-Kerry people should defend why he and Edwards are now saying we didnt go into Iraq soon enough in order to secure this stash.

yeah, it pisses me off that AFTER I posted this article, I read elsewhere that these bunkers were empty when we arrived there........ takes the wind out of the sails.

Bush is still incompetent, though.

Nice photo.

I just think its hilarious that for the past 3 months Kerry/Edwards have been saying we went into Iraq too quickly, etc. When this story broke they said we didnt go in quickly enough.
:worried:
