because of slavery? that happend years ago. and it started with blacks selling blacks to whites. so why does every black guy i meet feels that he/she is owed something by the US? they are in poverty because they want to be in poverty- otherwise, they would have gotten jobs and a student loan. simple as that

but let me tell you a funny story. a co-worker and i were going to the store to buy something. he had his little kid with us. a back lady walks by with her kid. and his little boy says "daddy, look at the little monkey". needless to say, my co-worker and i walked away very emberassed.

I've told black jokes to blacks. Blacks have told me black jokes. My gym is full of Turks I've told jokes about them too.

It depends on the tone/context. I wouldn't say it in a condescending manner, but I wouldn't do that online either.

Maybe I am racist. I certainly hate the whole rap/R&B/urban thing.
Then again I love Jazz, Funk, Blues and whatnot and they're all black.
I'm an NBA fan too.

Basically when I think about it I only hate blacks who are being assfaces. So I basically view them the same as any race.

I will come to Nubly's defense on this one. If it's one person who doesn't give a shit what people on this board think of him it's definately me, so I'll be sure to back someone up if I feel there's some truth to the issue.. As left winged as this board is, it's funny how anyone making a thread regarding real social issues concerning anything regarded as politically incorrect, no matter how true it may be, get's shit on.

I'm not going to say all blacks feel they are owed something, but it does seem that the ghetto minorities, not only blacks though, feel they are owed something, like they are in the position they are in for no other reason than they are black, and it's America's fault.

I'm positive there's truth to this in some measure, because even Dave Chapelle made a skit about the issue. There was a newscast on how all the blacks in America were sent checks from the government as an "i'm sorry" for making them (well their ancestors obviously) slaves. The economy soared.

I mean its just a socially accepted misconception. Just like Dial Tone asks why all whites think all blacks think the same well, why do all blacks think whites are racist? We all know we're all not racist, we all know not all blacks "think the same" or are all ghetto trash gangsters, but yet it's socially common to make these broad generalizations, because blacks are still stereotyped in the media as being thuggers (and it's still glamorized by MTV), so what do you expect the majority of whites to believe the majority of blacks are today?

And the thing is, as long as black comedians and such still keep cracking white racist jokes, even though it's just a joke, it plants a seed in the back of your mind (if you're not white and don't know any better) that most whites really may be racist indeed, and minorities will think maybe there's some truth to those jokes.

I think if we just leave the topics alone and never bring them up in jokes, media, whatever, then evetually the misconceptions will finally fade away, slowly but surely, and people will stop second guessing.
