Well, I just got my bodyfat done today :lmao:

Who goes to get their BF done after a huge Mexican dinner?? BUNNY! :FRlol: IMO that is probably not such a good idea from an accuracy standpoint, lol, but I was so excited to get it done. :insane: Ya’ll will look at the % and think I’m crazy. :verygood:

I will TRY to take some pics tomorrow or something this weekend. I have to work all weekend, then decompress Sunday & start things off Monday. (Sunday will be 11 weeks out.)

I have access from my girl Mary ( :heart: ) at my gym to do BF whenever I want. I think it would be pretty cool to do it weekly with progress pics @ 11 weeks out, 10, 9, 8 & so on. :)

I am going to re-evaluate my diet as this would be the 1st time since my shoot that I did some type of carb rotation. (I think it was more of depletion back then, so I am not sure how my body would even respond to a carb rotation. I really would like to test it out & planned my training around it so I have some things to think about.)

In my brief experience with these shows, it seems the judges want different things & have ‘favorites’… . I’d like to go into this show knowing I did the best I could. I want to look how I feel a figure competitor should look, which is not all T & A, or soft, & definitely with some sexy muscle. Hey, I get a Tshirt no matta what. :D

Personally, I'd like a little more size on my delts (cappage); they look blown up when I'm lean & doing a double bi. However, I may not need to if I nail the poses properly… Sassy would be so proud lol :) I REALLY have to work on the posing to get them to 'pop' when my arms are down & fanned out. My calves have always been an obvious weak point. (Not even worth bringing up the lack of chest fat issue (aka breasteses ) since there is NOTHING I can physically do for that other than get gel inserts :D ) Other than that I am pretty satisfied with the rest of my figure & very proud of my physique.

Of course any opinions & critique are welcome and encouraged. :rose:

I haven't even done anything yet & it already feels different to be on the competition side in lieu of the cheering section. When you & the others are ready (yes I know who you are :evil: ) you'll have your own thread & I'll be watching just the same :rose: Thank you for the positive feedback. :D

LOL, maybe rolling down the thing at full speed … jogging down slowly actually allows for a more ‘plyo’ impact for the legs, it’s great :) Besides you gotta look out for dog **** in the warmer months ;)

**Note** I am going to compare to my 13% @ 162 lbs to see where the jumps are. I do this because THOSE results were 11-12 weeks off from when I started cutting in FEB., almost same time from until my show :) This helps me visualize my past progress & address previous issues that may end up a pothole on this journey. Trying to pave over that before it would become an issue. :D Get it? hehe, Data Bunny... :D

the one exercise I feel brought my delts out is a cross body hammer curl. Start at the bottom and bring the dumbell across your chest and finish the motion at your opposite ear. Sounds weird, I know - but it works your bicep and shoulders together. You'll feel it burn in your front and side delts as well as your biceps. I use a 25 lb dumbell -go as heavy as you can without ruining your form. :) If you do them standing, you also work your core muscles.
 
the chest pinch seems WAY off imo......still Nov is easily w/n striking distance!!!

A chest pinch of that size tells me based on your pics, that the trainer grabbed some muscle...making that reading, and thus the ENTIRE calculation HIGH.

Hence the comment, even at that inflated reading, November is still easily doable.

Bunns, for lack of chest fat issue, the cut of your suit can REALLY make a big difference as with placement of gel inserts. So while diet and training are key, do not forget to focus on getting the right cut, style and color for your bikini top. "That is really all I have to add at this point," the fashionista says :D

Might as well make a note, I do have loose skin on chest, pit, lat region & lower abdomen. I wouldn't go as far as to say 'back fat' but you can see my sports bras outline & skin bubbling out a little :)

The chest imo - is the most difficult of pinches to get properly, especially on women. Usually, when it feels like you have it, if you pull just slightly, you will feel it drop to a smaller amount, like crossing over a ridge....since chest pinches are usually fairly low(in comparison to thighs etc) an overstimation will throw a large error into the Jackson Pollack equation(or similar) that the trainer is using, since it is a larger percentage of error.

I JUST did that, & can feel the drop. I am going to have bruises.

For shitsngiggles, I'll be conservative & say 12 would be a better figure (going from previous pinches) ... Any idea how MUCH that would bring it down?

Assuming 5 mm difference on a 115mm total folds is a difference of 29% error for the Chest pinch - that translates into a OVERALL difference of about 4.5%.

Chest fold is only ONE measurement - but that would indicate an OVERALL OVERestimation of probably 1-1.5%.
 
Also does she do just one set of skin fold measures? Just to test the consistency of the measures I do at least 2 complete sets of measures & take the avg of each pinch & then calculate the overall. If you see a big fat variation in one of them, that tells you there's somethign going on w/ the pinch itself.

I always pinch three time and take the middle number for each individual site.



Or - I just look...close my eyes, and then repeat for a total of three times.

LOL, she usually does a once over then repeats & takes average. 1st few times I remember her doing 3 :) . I'll have her do it 3 X next time for sure. :D Thank you for the awesome suggestions :D

heeheehee .. I'm like YUP, the form is in the mail as well! (Entry fee was paid via PayPal, have to mail form either way). I also prebooked a room at a hotel for Fri & Saturday, and asked for Thurs & Friday (obviously) off work. NPC application & fee went out as well.

I did email him to ask about seating & tickets for those seriously interested in coming (as far as any possible discount or prearranged seating so people can sit together, etc.) I will keep everyone posted either way.

Well, consensus on getting more "oomph" for the chest area is to go with a halter cut. With gel inserts and squeezing the boobage together, you definitely get more cleavage that way....plus a more proportionate look with the shoulders highlighted. Here's a page of some designs used for natural a/b cups.

Here is a skeleton of the split I was GOING to start with the corresponding carb rotation without a show in mind.

Why do you feel this would not be acceptable for initial show prep? Think of it like phase 1 ….

Day 2 (LC) – Chest, Tris (~ 14 working sets NOT including warm up sets OR abs & calves)
Day 3 (HC) – OFF (Abs, Calves option and/or YOGA)
Day 4 (MC) – Back, Bis, Forearms (Wrist optional) (complex carbs, if any, will be eaten PWO in the AM) (~ 16-18 working sets NOT including warm up sets)

Day 7 (HC) – OFF (or YOGA) <-- this is the day BEFORE my leg day

Diet Info:

* LC = Low(er) Carb
* MC = Moderate Carb
* HC = High Carb

Misc Info:

• I prefer to weight train in the AM & would like to keep it as such for now at least.

• I do like splitting Legs, so that option is not ruled out.

• Should I be hitting BP 2 times I week? I had growth & strength increases by doing so … (keeping my goal in mind to add a little size if at all possible while cutting… this IS possible for me)

• Looking at some #’s for reference & date… Last cut Feb - May, I ate more to make up for the catabolistic effects cardio is known for. Apparently it worked for me by simply to my body and fed it when it was hungry. After flipping through some fitdays it ranges from 1800-2300 cals sometimes more, and I still dropped about 1% body fat a week for 11-12 weeks, while gaining just shy of 5 lbs LBM.

• I do NOT want to end up doing hours of cardio 2 weeks out from the show. I guess this is a play it by ear kinda thing anyway :)

All I got for now.

I just finished Day 5 of my first week back in the gym training (reference above split), previously only lifting once in the last 4 weeks.

you've done it before... no need to second guess yourself.

Hit it hard and heavy and do your crazy ass sprints...

The carb rotation is the only unknown. Are you sure you want to try something new right before a competition? ...that's totally up to you. You know your body best and what works/has worked in the past.
 
IMO - Carb rotations work best:

1 - For a period of 6-8 weeks out
2 - After the body has adapted to a linear progression of lowered cals



As far as splits...you know my preference.....you have basically listed a one bodypart per day kinda deal and I think its perfect for your goals...I do think 18 sets for delts/traps is a bit much, unless you wanted to split:


Chest and Anterior delts
Lats, traps, posterior delts


Lateral sweep on delts and midback detail will literally wins shows on their own, along with detailed legs.


I think splitting delts and legs is the way to go, in fact I have Treilin doing something very similar.

Reply to tickets & seating:

"As you may expect with over 100 total competitors we sell alot of tickets.
I usually have at least 20-30 requests for large goups of tickets of 10-20 even 50.

therefore we do make every attempt to sit people together, but only if the tickets are all ordered in one order. I can't sit people together that order seperately.
I will say if an order was placed now in the next week or 2 they would be very good seats.
As you get closer to the show the seating obviously gets frarther to the back and
more out to the sides.
You can order by check in the mail or credit card online."


I also asked how many women competed in figure last year and he said 18. This was not futher divided by class.

Here are my two "BP Split" splits lol ... At this time I was not hitting calves as often as I should be (one more day). Abs would rotate every 2-3 days .. i.e Day 1, 4 & 7 or 2, 5 (maybe 7)

Option 1
Day 1 - Quads, Glutes, Calves, Abs
Day 2 - Chest, Delts (ant.) <-- lateral head worked with Day 2 or 5
Day 3 - OFF
Day 4 - Hams, Calves, Abs
Day 5 - Back, Traps, Delts (post.) <-- lateral head worked with Day 2 or 5
Day 6 - Bis, Tris
Day 7 - OFF (Abs, option)

or

Option 2
Day 1 - Chest, Delts (ant.)
Day 2 - Quads, Glutes, Calves, Abs
Day 3 - OFF
Day 4 - Back, Traps, Delts (post.)
Day 5 - Hams, Calves, Abs
Day 6 - Bis, Tris

Cardio - I am undecided on cardio at this time. I like the cooldown effect of 10-20 min. PWO & 3-4 days a week of HIIT.

I prefer Option 2

I think the 40/30/30 and cal split is perfect, as well as HIIT 3-4x per week.


I would not change one thing in all of that

Like Sarge said I would stick with the 40/30/30 especially if you know that that works for ya, and try the carb rotation at 6-8 weeks like Shadow said. PLus if you know what works already you'll be able to cut down a bit then better be able to see whats left to improve on ;)
EIther way I think you'll do great, because you always work hard at the goals, or so it seems in the past :rose: :D

Possible BCAA's? Why or why not? (Never taken these)

Definitely a good multi ... (still have to find one that doesn't make me wanna :sick: This includes One-A-Day, GNC & VS brands :( )

DHEA - Use to take 50 mg a day

Ginger/Cayenne/Garlic - one or all of these, some have combos, looking more for health benefits to NOT get sick.

Vit C & Cranberry - all i take now basically

Cal/Mag - I take this too

I think you have come to learn how your body responds to different guidlines or diet and training. I would use that knowledge and what you've learn about different cutting diets and training to go into the right direction for you.

Then I would lean on those with competition experience to help guide you through the special needs for such a situation.

Bcaa;s arent needed, especially if you do a protein/carb shake b4 training....at least not now.

DHEA - mixed feelings on that - try it and see


Creatine - I think it would depend on kidney functions.....
