Are you still taking synthroid?

I've said this before - I would seriously reconsider the yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese and torillia's you're eating.

I would replace the ham with tuna, chicken or turkey
More greens - eat as much green veggies as you want - 3 cups+ or more a day.
Try yam, potato, or rice

Like breakfast - 5 egg whites, 1 whole egg and 1/2 cup oats - no cottage cheese

Also - when you workout what are the actual exercises that you are doing?

I've read your posts for a while now and you shouldn't be hitting this wall for this long - something is off.

I would also suggest if you aren't already - get your bodyfat measured and keep and an eye of what sort of muscle gain you are making.


NO DAIRY!
Just trust me on this - please try it for at least three weeks.

I don't take SYNTHROID now, but still I'm running on thyroid pills is some combination T3/T4, I took synthroid with this together, now I tring be without thyroid pills, But I feel OK. I'm still insulin resistant, but I think is littel bit better. When I took synthroid too my sugar was so high...I don't know if overdose thyrid pills can raise sugar level, but now I feel better not too much crapy.
Last result my thyroid test was:
Total T4 12.3 normal range 6.09-12.23 ug/dl
T3U 45 normal range 32-48.4
T7{FTI} 5.54 normal range 1.95-5.92
TSH 0.025L normal range 0.35-5.60
....so probably I was overmedicine, because of I try go down with medicine. :silly:

Milk, oats, rye and soy interfere with thyroid function.

Cottage cheese is a good source for protein but it is a dairy product and it does contain sugar which is not the best selection for someone with thyroid and insulin issues.

There is documentation that states that cottage cheese is good for those that are insulin resistant and it's based on it being a protein and something to fill you up - but based on what I've seen of your history I don't believe dairy products are the best choice for you.

You should be consuming a fair amount of carbs though which you can get through green veggies and rice - the potato/yam family is good but like cottage cheese is does contain sugar but it does not contain dairy so you will have to experiment.

I feel compelled to ask you to try for a few weeks and see how you feel and what results you may have. I don't recall the cottage cheese but I don't remember that you have been eating yogurt for a while now and if you have not seen results in this long period of time you have to change what you are doing.

I don't mean to sound discouraging - I truly mean the opposite.

The increase in weight is due to yesterday's alcohol consumption - water retention. Drink more water today.

And didn't Velvett recommend you to stop with the oats also? She gave you advice on something to try - to see if that made a difference, and you said you would .... but you are still eating oats.

What weight are you lifting for each exercise? (need specifics)

As for the ribs/back - if you are in that much pain, you need to see a doctor.

Hey there! Just getting a chance to catch up on your log... looks to me like you could be under eating??? We have almost the same stats (well mine were the same thru the winter) but in the last couple months I have gained bout 5-10 lbs muscle. Try addin in a few more calories here or there and try to keep it atleast about 1200 :)

Daisy is right the weight gain is the Rum - time and a lot of water to flush your body out.

Yep, no oats.

Shoot for a min of 1200 cals no less - i know it's hard - what to eat, to prep it - but once you get a groove going with the food it will be easier.

Thanks for asking VELVETT..I feel good, but I'm just concern from my weight...I had before now 122lb..and now 3 days 125lb.
I go down with dosage of thyroid pills..now just 7 more days and I'll be without any medication. I'll see what happend with me. Just for explain..I stopping thyroid pills, because I change my doctor..I was afraid, because my old one..he put me on thyroid pills {synthroid 200mg + some thyroid pills from his office it was combination of T3/T4} But he NEVER CHECK my thyroid..he just was think my metabolism slowed down...maybe crazy?? So my new doc. said me "try slow down" with medication and you will see. Even now my blood sugar level is better. I don't have it so high..sometimes still higer, but not so often. New doc checked my thyroid too..the results ...I have here in my journal somewhere.

so today I'll woke up at 7AM my temperature was 97.5..what you think is it OK mostly I have around 97,7-98.5.

The thyroid meds have to be ramped down - which means you lower the dosage as you go through your final weeks/days.

The body takes time to let go of water weight. If you think you are bloated from alcohol, it could take up to a full week to see your scale go back to normal. I actually think the cleaner you eat, the more your body tends to hold on to water and react when you feed it substances that its not used to...at least from my personal experience. Just keep eating clean, drinking lots of water, doing your workouts and not stress over a couple of pounds.

And it may help to monitor the after-effects of your cheats so you can see if they are detering your progress over the long run. For me, a weekly cheat was too much and I was setting my progress back with that frequency.

Let the number go... If you stress about a number your cortisol levels will raise and next thing you know the number goes up and then you think you are turning into a moose and then you want to eat lots of stuff and next thing you know you really are a moose.... Let a number be a number and that is that...
Just place the focus on how you are feeling!

Do they do body fat measurements at your gym?
I would have that done - and for the first month or two every two weeks, then once a month.

A few things - weights/ building muscle will make the scale number go higher but muscle takes up lass space than fat so it is possible to be heavier but be smaller.

As a side note - you could be sensitive to the brown rice - some people hold some water from it. I know everyone says BROWN rice is better (fiber content mostly) but for kicks try a long grain jasmine rice for a week or two instead a note any difference. I don't stomach brown rice well myself ....
 
OK GIRLS, I'm here, now I checked my blood sugar it's 130mg/dl weird...I didn't eat any carb.

On Sunday....go back to normal eating schedule.....


On Monday moring - take your temp...weigh and measure the blood sugar again

Yeh, I usual check my blood sugar in the morning after wake up..always is it between 90-100mg/dl..which is good...but sometimes in the afternoon my sugar is high..now is much better..before I took synthroid+another thyroid pills together I got sometimes 90 sometimes 150 even 165 than 90..littel mess in my hormones. But now I trying drop down my thyroid medic. couple more days and I'll be without..I'll see what happend.

the morning temp thing(tracking) is related to thyroid - which WILL drastically affect the blood sugar level.

Well, it seems as though the doctor you're with now is really wanting to get the meds out of your system and start figuring out what will help you the most. Good job switching docs!

Sometimes it takes a while to get your diet and exercise figured out. Since you have a few medical issues to deal with it may take longer so just hang in there because it will get better. You can do this!

.....and stop getting all stressed over the number on the scale. Are your clothes a little looser now? How are you feeling?

Velvett explained that muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space. Example: you could weigh more but be in a smaller size of pants.

The scale cannot see you, it cannot touch you, it cannot tell the difference between muscle and fat. The scale cannot define who you are unless you let it.

For some clarification .... On your workouts, when you list the weights, do you mean TOTAL or in each hand?

For example, for CHEST PRESS you lifted 20lbs for 10 reps, and then 25lbs for 8reps. Was that 20lbs/25lbs in each hand? Or is that 20lbs/25lbs both hands COMBINED weight?

How do you feel after each set? Do you feel like you could do a little more? Or are you lifting to fatigue/failure?

Yes I lift 20lb in each hand so together 40lb both.
I lift until fatigue..because mostly last rep my boyfriend helped me mostly!! :cyclops:
WHAT YOU THINK is it not too much what I lift..I know after long time..but I never lift more.

Why jasmine rice? Why not oatmeal, whole wheat toast, sweet potato, etc.
Switch out the simple carb for a complex carb.
When was the last time you had your body fat tested? How much water you drinking? What is your sodium intake? What time of month is it?

I just FINALLY read through your whole log... I'm sorry I was laughing at all the red mean guy faces next to your weight and temp....
On your log can you add in when you are supplementing with your glucorell-r and how many, and everything else you are taking?!?
Seriously your body has been on this pill for I'm assuming quite some time, and you have to remember your body will take some time to adjust. Don't stress about the number. Just track it. I did notice one theme throughout the whole log and that is this
"I FEEL GOOD" That's what is important! Just think of the rest of this as a challenge to take on and some how get under control. My hormones were way out of whack for over a year... Sometimes it takes your body awhile to get back to homeostasis. Again... I really emphasis that you just be happy at the current time for feeling good!!!!
