Serostim in the gym

Has anyone heard of the guy in New York State who was working as a HIV education coordinator for AIDS patients. He was collecting the names and identification numbers of his AIDS patients, then submiting phony prescriptions for Serostim, billing Medicaid for the very expensive drug. He would then have the drug delivered to friends or clients of the AIDS clinic, paying these people $50 to $100 dollars for the use of their addresses, and then he would collect the serostim at allmost nothing and turn around sell it making millions till he was caught and busted. It is estimated that his scam cost the Medicaid system (which is financed through our tax dollars), over 1.7 million. This story was so big it was on the cover of the New York Daily News.

Natural economic factors at work. Basic supply and demand here. Nothing special.

Without Medicare and drug laws, where would this guy be?

Without medicare, he wouldn't be able to claim a medicare expense.

Without drug laws, drug stores would freely sell to individuals. Think about it: who would you rather buy from: a drug store or a dealer?
