Personally, I had my wake up calls a few years back, most of which happened while bouncing which I suppose makes some sense. People are fucked. Enjoy them for what you can but don't expect more than they are capable of giving. That shit has saved me from some serious rage when it comes to some of the unreliable fucks out there.

But the trip and visit was planned jointly. I don't know what you all think here, but if I invite someone out to visit me, I am going to at least be civil with them. I don't care if I hate your guts, I'd accomodate you the best I could, and if I couldn't I'd let you know why I couldn't and present some alternatives. I couldn't just leave someone hanging in a stange city when the only reason they were there in the first place was to see me.

just a quiet voice from the sideline...calling people crazy/freaky/twisted for all to see is demeaning and quite hurtful, and if the person does have significant issues (being completely objective. everyone has issues. some big, some small, some significant, some not, at various phases in their life) it makes such comments even more so.
i would strongly suggest that everyone not directly involved in this drama frankly shut up and stay out of it. kak, i dont know what your motives were for posting your thread, and righteous or not, i cant see anything but hurt coming from this.
im not posting this message to add my 2 cents in my normal GoldenDelicious persona. im in health professional problem solver mode just now. a LOT of real world hurt is going to come from some very cheap comments made in this thread today. think about that before you press the "post reply" button. this isnt a game.

Well I'm not reading all 4 pages of this particular thread, but a certain EF member had kak's original thread saved, andbrought it to my attention cause I mentioned to them months ago about the little wierdness between Raina and myself...
I just want to add in...

From july-Sept of last year... Talked online via AIM a lot, emails daily, some phone calls. Lot of deep talks, she really seems genuinely honestly into you 110%, makes you feel like she is your soulmate. Just like other people have said, she seems like a truly nice person. She was supposedly making plans to come see me and such, she was looking up flight prices to my closest airport, etc. I got the whole story of her husband not appreciating her, and etc etc...
Anyway, I had zero hopes of ever meeting this person. I've been around the internet block so to speak more times than i can count, and i took it or what it's worth, like I do everything in life; I don't believe it until it's in front of my face. I taked to Raina as a friend, left the door open for some feelings of course, but that's about it, never went head over heels, and never will for anyone, especially on the internet, even though 99.9984739% of my dealings with females from the internet have indeed been good ones. I'm a cautious person none the less.
What i do not agree with though are people on here like nathan and Digger stating "haha told u so u deserve it (paraphrasing of course, but that's the general gist they are putting across).
That's very very ass backwards thinking coming from people who , in one's case, has met guys as friends from of EF, and in another's case helps to admin a site that is community based to begin with. The whole "told you so it's the internet" bullshit is indeed just pure bullshit as a means to back someone up. Plenty of people from this site have met other fellow EF'ers with great sucess, not just for relationships , but just for plain friends, it's a fact. You can't stand behind Raina and take her defense and say she's right and every other dude she played is wrong just because she did it by means of the bid bad internet. What anyone who takes this stance is saying really, is " well its to be expected all internet girls are psycho, and they will do this. so you have to blame the guy for being dumb"
That's a huge slap in the face to all female EF board members I'm sure, and even though I'm not a female obviously, I find it sick that people would toss out generalizations like that to the female populatoin making up this site, most of which im sure are very genuine and nice people..

However I found out though the grapevine she moved on of course, many times apparently, like the locust she seems to be.
In my ever so humble opinion, anyone backing up Raina through this, when theres undoubtedly many many sources that can explain her misdoings, if you will, are fools. Just because it didn't happen to you, and you feel you are above and beyond welcoming female drama, makes no difference as to the situation being inherently right or wrong, wether it was done through the internet or wether it all started out from meeting a girl ina club, or supermarket, etc. Makes no difference.
Anyway Kak, my regards, and to anyone else who got played, despite how hard or easy you took it when things went sour, my condolences to you as well.

However, aside from this particular drama, I have some thoughts about your comments. I agree that this kind of thing happens all to often. However, to simply say that leading someone on, or using them, or having them give of themselves in a way that you know you will not reciprocate, or even have minimal regard for words you extended to a person knowing how they will interpret them, is wrong. Any person who makes another person endear themselves by lies, or even just by feelings you don't even know you have or simply cannot back up when that person puts him/herself out there, is wrong.
If someone is going to the trouble to travel out of their state to meet with someone, it would seem to me that both parties had a vested interest, and knew exactly what they were getting into. At the very least, seeing the person through the time they committed is the considerate and proper thing to do, unless there was a concern for safety.
Bottom line..don't treat people the way you yourself would not like to be treated. Have respect for others, and don't lead people on because it's plain mean and cruel. Leading guys on, teasing them, and making them feel important and wanted, only to turn around and drop them on it certainly is a "big fucking deal". Yes, it happens every day, but it's simply not acceptable...on both sides. People need to understand the concepts of accountability and common decency and respect before venturing out into the dating world. No person has the right to drag another unsuspecting and trusting individual into their ugly issue place. Once again, I'm not saying that is exactly what happened here, but considering the generic situation that is all too common, people need to understand that others don't want to be played, used, or disregarded, most especially when they have invested their time, money, feelings, and trust.
