IKEA is a big ass swedish furniture store. The only one in the state is in Kent.
Kent and south has decent prices. Bellevue, Seattle areas are spendy but are more happenin'. That's good to start small, figure out what's what before you pick a place to stay.
I live about 20-30 minutes south of Kent.

There's one opening here in a couple of years. I guess, you need to be able to show a billion in assets to open one. I have a friend in the Seattle area. He moved there a few years ago and is loving it.

Yeah, Kent is a decent size place, so it's got all the crap you need. When I driven past I've seen a Worlds Gym, but I'm sure there's choices. The bar scene in Kent is most likely redneckish, or gangbangerish. I haven't spent anytime there, so I'm just assuming.
If you want better stuff you've got to go up to Seattle or Belltown. But its pretty close.
If you need help getting some not too huge furniture, I've got a Cherokee, I can help you out.
