Okay, people, listen up. Here's the skinny on the 8and20 saga.
1. Albert uses an anonymity service.
2. So does the SCUM OF THE FUGGING EARTH (SOFTE).
3. Albert makes an alter who talks like SOFTE.
4. Decide quickly: Is Albert the scum of the earth or not?
So, we had a mod who thought they had a clean kill, and to me it looked like a Mad Scientist -- someone with admin access to a corporate server.
(Which is tantamount to a death wish, as using the corporate server to surf web pages is JUST like saying "Please have Security come and kick me out the loading dock door." But the other explanation, that the company is running an anonymity service on the Q.T., does make more sense.)
Is this going to happen again? I sure as hell hope not. But if you're using one of those GhostSurf or PageWash services, be very aware that you are lying down with dogs, and there is a chance that you're going to get up with fleas.
This is not a site where you have to worry about China coming after you for saying "Free Tibet! (with large soft drink)" When you're here, an anonymity service usually says "troublemaker," not "freedom fighter."
